This museum is located next to the Unification Observatory, the northernmost point in South Korea, overlooking North Korea. The museum is located on a large scale along a road overlooking the Haegeumgang River at the edge of Geumgangsan Mountain in the distance. It offers a comprehensive overview of the history and ecological value of the DMZ, as well as the Korean War. It's a great place for children and adults with fond memories. The lack of a souvenir shop is somewhat disappointing. Outdoor facilities offer a hands-on experience of the DMZ's barbed wire fence.

The place has excellent exhibits depicting the war and from the observation decks you can view the "Line in the Sand"..only thing is that the process to get to the place should be better explained, we made it all the way to the checking point only to be sent back to process our car and pay the very cheap fee...this being said...you need a car because there is no buses going there...we were told that land on each side of the DMZ is thriving with flora and fauna due to the fact that nobody is...

It's free of charge and lots of parking spaces. Outside, there was a piece of the Berlin Wall sent by Germany in the hopes of one day, the two Koreas will be united. There's a real boat on display that was used by NK defectors.
