This limestone cave located in the upstream area of the Namhangang River was formed about 400–500 million years ago. Its main cave measures about 1,800 m in length, while its tributary caves measure nearly 3,000 m in combined total length. The cave features four large caverns and gorges, with large-scale stalactites, stalagmites, cave pearls, and cave corals found in various places.

The inside of the cave maintains a temperature of 8–16°C and a humidity of 75–93% throughout the year, with the cave’s water remaining at about 16°C.

The cave is home to 41 species of organisms, including moths, centipedes, bats, springtails, blind scuds, and spiders. Most notably, a species of galloisiana thought to have gone extinct was discovered here.

The cave’s name Gossigil means “Cave of the Go Clan.” This is because a family from that clan is said to have hidden here during the Japanese invasions...

This place was a very pleasant surprise! I was honestly expecting the typical, totally sanitized experience with absolutely no serious effort required to experience and all kinds of weird colorful LEDs installed to add "ambience" to the cave. What I actually got was a nice walk through a dark, windy cave! Some areas required me to squat way down-I'm talking nearly all-fours here-and other spots were narrow enough that I, a guy who has a pretty lithe runner-build, had to be careful not to rub up against the walls. Definitely worth a visit, especially when you consider the fact that parking is free, entrance is 4,000KRW per person, and the restaurants right across the street are affordable and...

I think this is one of the natural and real cave in Korea. I really enjoy except for the visitors in the cave.

There should be bats but I don’t see any. What worst was the visitors are so noisy and making a lot of noise in the cave. And it make it sad for me.

I hope visitors into caves please do not talk and shout in the cave for considerations for others and also the bats. And if the kids don’t like it please, don’t bring the kids in. Because they will cry and affect the w we hole situation.

Make sure cave should be quiet!

So although I want to give full stars but the noisy tourists in cave just not...

ALINA (공과대학 기계공학) KATHAYAT,ALINA (공과대학 기계공학) KATHAYAT,
The 구씨 (Gu Sii) cave reminds me of my favorite drama My liberation notes. It also made me realised that being short is sometimes really helpful as some way insides were really low and others had to bend a lot. The entry fees is 4000 won per person and last ticket is till 4:50 PM. We did not know this and missed on our first day 😭
