A beautiful traditional 2-storey buildg with huge well-maintained parks.Small but a well-kept museum with ticketless entry. Also a huge screen for running short documentaries with subtitles in English. The best part is the sol section containing antiques gifted by the owner of the Samsung company. The museum also has a souvenir shop though the momentoes sold are rather expensive. With the rich Korean history, the Museum was expected to be bigger with different sections- art, architecture, clothes/garments,...

At the Gwangju National Museum, you can see beautiful Bronze Age artifacts from Korea. Including the bell with 8-thumbs, it is enough to enjoy the essence of the Korean Peninsula's Bronze Age culture. The Gwangju National Museum is directly accessible from the highway IC, so it has excellent accessibility and free admission. Exhibits are arranged systematically and according to historical flow, so you can see the history of the Korean Peninsula...

Worth visiting if you’re into Buddhist art or ceramics. A fair bit of history about the surrounding area and historical power struggles. Also some information on prehistory of the area. The museum is small and definitely has a more academic/teaching feel than entertaining, so probably better for older visitors. Free entry. Nice park like grounds to walk around.
