Gwangju National Museum was established in the late 1970's. The museum consists of many historical artifacts and artworks regarding buddhism and earthenware from sinan, Goryeo, silla, Bajae and Jaseon dynasties. The museum was developed to promote the prehistoric culture in Korea. Pets are not allowed at this place. There is no entry fee for this museum. And parking facility is also free. The museum closes on government holidays.

박물관 마당 동편에 뭐가 들어서는지....가림막을 높다랄게 세우고 대대적인 작업을 하는 것 같고 ...주차장은 작업하고 있는 것에서 옮겨 온 것인지 모르겠으나 커다란 조경수가 이식되어있다. 무슨 일이 있나?. 특별한 이유 없이....그 넓은 주차장에 빈 자리가 없다. 박물관 측의 특단의 노력이 필요 할 것으로 본다. 여수....특별전이 열리고 있습니다. 코로나 가 정점을 찍고 거리두기 등 완화방침에 따라 매표소의 출입구는 물론 옆의 큰 대문도 활짝열오 놓고 방문객의 자유로운 출입을 위한 조치를 시행 중 이다. 모처럼 혹시나 하고 들려봤다 . 상당히 많은 차가 주차장에....안으로 들어가니 개조를 하는 큰 공사인가? 중장비가 들어와 있고 .... 광주의 고대 역사의 자랑인 장고분....장고 모양의 묘지...고대 유물 발굴 과정과 30 년 발굴 결과에 대한 특별전시전이었다 30 년 을 붓질로 땀방울로 적셔 가면서 흙속에 먼지 속에 우리의 고대 조상과의 대화의 산물인 결과물을 보여주었습니다. 일본에 가면 정확한 학술용어는(전방후원) 잊었지만 장고모양의 한 쪽과 한쪽이 사각형 모양의 묘형을 갖고 우리의 묘지는 일본의 영향을 받거나 일본 왜구의 묘지라고 우기는 왜구의 주장을 반박하는 좋은 전시회였습니다 연중 무료 개방 시민들의 역사 공부와 산책과 휴식의 공간 으로 언제든 찾아가 보고 싶은 공간. 선사시대의 광주 는 어떤 것이었는지 부터....고급스런 광주 문화 까지 두루 살펴보실 수 있으며.....내친김에 근처에 있는 광주민속박물관에들려 우리생활에 쓰이던 도구 들은 어떤 것이 있으며 생활에 어떻게 유용하게 쓰고...활용했는지 와 .....그 도구를 만든 사람들의 지혜 역시 함께 생각 해 보시고.....산책을 즐기셨으면....미술관도 들려 보시기를 권 합니다. 이례적인 폭염에....파라솔. 양산 까지 비치하여 관람객에 대한 배려를 해 주는 문화시설이 ....광주 답습니다... 사회적 거리두기를 완화 된 오늘 .....많은 사람들이 거리두기를 지키면서 산책을 하고 있었습니다.

This museum is free and have a lot of good pieces of art. Most of it is ceramic work, some historic pieces and some strange things. You can visit in one hour and combine with other museum like the beautiful museum of art of the folk museum (didnt do it).

Unfortunately when I visit there, they only open for the 2nd floor. So, not much to see. But, still you can see old paintings from some famous historical korean painters. And the park is also clean and nice.

Beautiful gardens, perfect for a picnic after a stroll though the museum. The museum itself gave me great insight into the history of Korea, very informative and well maintained
