The Jeju Rail Bike is a popular leisure activity on Jeju Island. It's a four-wheeled bicycle that you ride on a railroad track, allowing you to enjoy the scenery while pedalling. The track runs for about 35 minutes and takes you past various attractions like oreums (volcanic cones), Udo Island, Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak), and a ranch with over 100 cows. The rail bike is powered by an electric motor, so you don't have to pedal too hard. It also has a weatherproof shield, so you can ride comfortably even in the rain.

Along the route, you'll find cafes, animal farms, and an observatory. The observatory offers a great view of the rail bike track and the surrounding scenery. The cafe sells carrot juice, a local speciality. The Jeju Rail Bike is a fun and relaxing activity for families and couples. It's a great way to experience the beauty of Jeju Island.

Ticket Types and Prices (per person):

4 Seats: 13,000 won

3 Seats: 15,000 won

2 Seats: 17,000 won

Kitty and I were excited to try the Jeju Rail Bike. We were hoping to get a 4-seater bike because it seemed to be the cheapest option for two people. However, the ticketing agent informed us that since there were only two of us, we could only buy the 2-seater ticket, which cost 17,000 won per person.

Once we were on the rail bike, a staff member gave us a quick briefing on how to operate the bike and the brakes. The entire course is 4 km long and takes about 20 minutes to complete. We found that you can easily spend 1 hour and 15 minutes here, including the ride and relaxing at the cafe on site.

While the scenery wasn't at its most vibrant in April, the overall experience was still enjoyable. The volcanic cones and the surrounding landscape provided a unique backdrop for our ride. It's worth noting that the greenery is likely to be more lush during other seasons.

Overall, the Jeju Rail Bike is a fun and relaxing activity, especially if you're looking for a unique way to experience the island's scenery. The cafe is a great place to unwind after your ride. Recommend checking it out if you're...

It was an absolute nightmare visiting this place in December 2024, and let me tell you, it was an experience to remember—though not for the reasons you'd hope. The place was practically a ghost town, which I assumed would mean stellar service.

One staff member decided that helping seniors and children buckle up for the rail ride was beneath them. Instead, they stood there looking like they'd rather be anywhere else. Instead of helping my mother-in-law, as she was evidently struggling, she was yelled at like she was in boot camp? Well, I didn’t realize we signed up for the military experience package.

And if that wasn’t enough to top off the ambiance, another staff member made an impatient grunt toward my son when he was not able to buckle up the under-maintained rail bike. I mean, he’s a kid, not an unpaid intern! Apparently, common courtesy was left at the entrance gate.

Oh, and the cherry on top? They have this charming unmanned 'honest system' where visitors are supposed to pay for the animal's feed. We, of course, paid, but apparently that wasn’t convincing enough. A staff member came over to remind us again to pay. Did we look like goat food smugglers? He continued to eye us till we left! Maybe, they should put more effort in their service! I guess our honest faces didn’t pass their finely tuned suspicion radar. Truly, a 'five-star' terrible experience.

Please give it a miss and visit another rail bike attraction. Otherwise, skip...

The rail bike was good fun but when we got off we didn't realise we would be walking through a small animal park. I was shocked at the awful enclosures the animals were kept in. Most were kept on just concrete with nowhere to hide/shelter. No access to grass etc. All enclosures were so small too, particularly the deer, pigs and some of the rabbits. I left the park feeling sad about the poor state of the animals. Knowing prey animals like to hide away to feel safe it felt wrong seeing them so exposed. Seemed particularly cruel seeing the animals kept like that when we were surrounded by so much greenery. Unfortunately this spoilt our visit. I hope they read this and improve the...

Although I liked this experience, I was very disappointed that you don't really have control over the vehicle. It's automatically powered and pedaling has no effect unless you are starting off at the station. You do have a brake, but with people riding on the same trails in front and behind you, you can't really stop for too long nor are you supposed to get out of the vehicle. The views are pretty nice though. You get photographed at the beginning by an employee and if you choose to do so, you can buy the photo for 10,000 won at the end of your trip.
