Gosu Cave — Attraction in North Chungcheong

I visited this cave with my friend from Wonju, and she liked it because of the amazing view in it. This cave is not far from main street of Danyang, so you can walk over there acrossing the Gosu Bridge. There are flower baskets on the bridge, so it looks good. The entrance fee is little expensive(11,000won/$10~11), because it is run by private not government. But it won't disappoint you when you enter in it. In fact, this place is popular in summer so I recommend you to visit here at morning time or late...

The walk within the cave is approximately 1.5km and there are a number of places where you have to duck to avoid hitting your head. There are a number of sections with steep stairs, so it is not recommended for the frail. Otherwise it is a comfortable walk on metal platforms throughout and you can see a number of different rock structures. However almost all of the signs are only on Korean, which makes it a little dull it you can’t read...

IF you like cavern & cave tours in the US, this is NOT the place to go. Dark, humid. The whole tour is going up, then down metal stairs slippery with cave dripping. Narrow stairs (not for larger people), areas with very small treads, a couple places where you have to bend in half to get through. No handrails in 2 or 3 slippery places.
