Jomunguk Historical Site — Attraction in North Gyeongsang

During our travels, we serendipitously encountered a historical site, the significance of which was initially unknown to us. This site was once the territory of Jomun, a small kingdom situated in the area. Jomunguk, also known as Somun-guk, was a tribal state of the Jinhan lineage, located in Geumseong-myeon, Uiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do during the Three Kingdoms Period. In 185, it was subsumed by Silla and transformed into Munso-gun. Subsequently, during the Goryeo Dynasty, it took on the name of Uiseong. Despite the picturesque surroundings replete with lush greenery, our visit was hindered by the absence of shade and scorching weather, limiting our site...

This is the second course of Korean history after taking pictures of the Museum of Korea, which is a must-have course in Uiseong. I'm surprised that the vast grassland and the Royal Tomb of King Gyeongdeok are so magnificent. Uiseong is a wonderful place to see so many things. I'm gonna have to hurry up and see...

조문국이란 나라는 자료가 너무 부족하다. 삼국사기 기록에 벌휴왕2년(185) 사로국(신라)를 공격했다는 기록이 나온 게 거의 전부다. 조문국이란 나라가 언제 세워졌고 언제 멸망했는지 알 수 없다. 삼한시대 소국으로 중국과 일본 고대 역사서에 부분 부분 기록이 존재한다. 기원전 7세기에 세워졌다는 의견이 있는가 하면 21대왕 369년 동안 존재했다는 의견도 존재한다. 빈약한 기록과 고분 규모는 반비례한다. 큰 고분만 100여기, 모두 374개 고분이 발견됐다. 고분수만 보면 지역별 가야고분에 뒤쳐지지 않는다. 고분은 대부분 5-6세기에 만들어졌다. 금성산고분군은 1998년 경상북도기념물로 지정됐다. 2013년 조문국박물관이 문을 연다. 2014년 정자 '조문정'이 만들어졌다. 조문국사적지 산책로가 1.5km다. 꽤 길다. 파릇파릇 풀 가득한 길을 걷는 기분이 괜찮다. 여기저기 둥그렇게 솟아오른 고분이 만드는 풍경도 멋있다. 넓고 여유롭지만 햇빛을 가릴 곳이 거의 없다. 여름철, 한낮엔 산책하기 어렵다. 햇빛 심할 때를...
