Gangwon Comprehensive Museum — Attraction in Samcheok-si

Very interesting museum!

I highly recommend this museum if you like history or just interesting thing to look at. They have 9 sections to this museum. They have natural history with fossils, pottery, jewelry, dinosaurs, caves inside and outside.

They have so many pieces. They try to have all across the globe which they do but they mostly focus on east asian countries.

Cave is amazing and beautiful. They have various cave calcite formations. Outside of the museum is also stunning and very picturesque.

It took about 3-4 hours to look around. I took mugunghwa train which took 40 minutes or so to go there (동해 - 신기). I took bus to go back because I didn’t want to wait for 3 hours. By bus it took like an hour to get to 삼척 beach.

I would recommend to go and check the bus station number for accurate bus time. I took bus 70 to go to 삼척.

Extremely well organized and clean. A sight to see and experience in this museum. There are many artifacts, cave, and creative works to explore and experience, for a detailed tour it took about hour to two hours to see it all. The cave was very interesting, however, manbuilt. The wood work and artifacts from around the world is intriguing as well. I would highly recommend this place in Gangwon do.
