This exhibit alone is worth a trip to Jeju

The current exhibit ‘Perhaps Sunny Days’ is a thoughtfully presented series of artwork that evokes our primal emotions in recollecting and reflecting on precious but oftentimes elusive memories—nostalgic memories of the past, aching remembrance of loved ones with failing memories, and a reminder of our own dreadful journey into blurred memories. It culminates in ‘Forget Me Not,’ a stunning visual/musical depiction of the splendor and brevity of life that seems to bring together lingering motifs from preceding artworks in the sequence. The exhibit is layered with a hopeful message that parting of memories and disintegration of life are not to be raged against but celebrated with sweet sorrow, that we might just be able to have sunny days come upon us when we invite ourselves to such a celebration.

Super friendly staff, flavorful coffee at the café—all around a top-notch exhibition and venue. This exhibit alone is worth a...

An amazing museum and absolutely worth a visit! The current main exhibit, “The World We Made,” handles the weighty topic of bias and hate, but does so in a way that is beautifully presented and artfully interactive. As a parent, I particularly appreciate the visually appealing aspects that could draw even a small child’s (or surly teenager’s :)) attention, as the topic is so important in today’s polarized and tribalistic culture.

While you are there, I also recommend the nearby Podo Hotel, either to stay or to try the phenomenal restaurant (the udon in particular is the...

Tried this museum on our last day in Jeju. It was well worth it. Roughly 10000krw to enter each. Rooms full of modern art in a crisp setting is accompanied by an audio guide included in the price. Scan the QR code and use your own headphones.

Various artists and their works are exhibited and some are quite large rooms. Pencil on paper, oil on canvas, and audio visual works are currently on show, some are even interactive.

There is a cafe in the building with a few gifts as well as a small library.

Ample parking is just past the building. Would recommend if you are...
