Wind 1947 (Jeju Island): An Exciting Go-Karting Adventure (4/5 Stars)

Rating:

• Go-Karting Experience: 4.5/5 (Thrilling go-karting experience, great track, fun two-seater option)

• Value: 4/5 (Reasonable prices for the go-karting packages)

• Language Barrier: 3/5 (Limited English or Chinese communication, which made understanding instructions and options a bit tricky)

Overall: 4/5

Donkey and I had a fantastic time at Wind 1947. It was a super exciting experience, and I loved it. I've been go-karting a few times before, but this was my first time, and I was super excited. This was also my first time trying a two-seater go-kart. We arrived around 12:40 and were surprised to see the whole go-kart track empty, which made us worried no one was racing. But then we realized there was a specific time for the go-kart races to start. Before buying our tickets, we had to fill out an indemnity form, which is standard for these types of activities. We spent a relaxing 20 minutes in the cafe, which is also the waiting area. At 1 p.m., we were led to the go-kart starting point where everyone got their headgear.

Everything was explained in Korean, and there was no English or Chinese, which made things a bit tricky. Even the safety briefing was in Korean, so Donkey and I didn't understand most of it. When we were seated in the go-kart, they gave instructions and explained the safety precautions, but we couldn't understand any of it.

Despite the language barrier, Donkey and I had a great time racing. The wind was strong, and we had a blast zooming around the track. We decided to go for the 10 km route, which cost 50,000 won for the two of us, and we chose the two-seater go-kart so we could ride together. After a few rounds, donkey swapped with me so i could drive too. I actually tracked our total distance travelled with my Garmin, and we completed the 10 km route before they called us in to return the go-karts.

The park also has an indoor survival experience centre and laser tag. One thing we found a bit challenging was the language barrier. The receptionist at the ticket counter didn't speak English or Chinese, and it seemed like most of the staff didn't either. It made communicating a bit difficult, especially when trying to figure out the different packages and options. They have a few packages available that include different combinations of go-karting, survival centre activities, and food and drink options. We found a price list posted that showed various options for go-karting based on track length, number of laps, and whether it's a single or double rider kart. The prices range from 25,000 won to 50,000 won. They also have height restrictions for riders, which are clearly posted.

Overall, it was the perfect day trip, full of action and fun. We recommend Wind 1947 to anyone visiting Jeju Island. Just be prepared for a potential...

Karting was super fun. The helmets and prep area was a bit of a mess. The track was really well laid out but too narrow in some places which made passing too frustrating as it caused major traffic jams. The go karts themselves were on quality and seemed a bit old. The waiting area was a nice place to hang out while waiting. Washrooms need updating. Perhaps some places run a delicate septic system but a giant bin filled to the brim with poop stained toilet paper just put a damper into the entire experience. In any case the karting was the point and that...
