시흥갯골축제가 ‘2020년 대한민국축제콘텐츠대상’에서 축제콘텐츠 부문 대상에 선정됐다. 이로써 시흥갯골축제는 2020 경기관광대표축제, 2020~2021 대한민국 문화관광축제 선정에 이어 2020 대한민국축제콘텐츠 대상까지 차지하며 3관왕을 달성했다.

임병택 시흥시장은 16일 “시흥갯골축제가 이제 지역축제에 국한되지 않고 그 가치를 전국적으로 인정받아 굉장히 뿌듯하다. 다양한 축제콘텐츠와 프로그램으로 많은 관람객이 지속적으로 찾을 수 있도록 노력하겠다“고 말했다.

대한민국축제콘텐츠대상은 (사)한국축제콘텐츠협회에서 주관하며 올해 8회째를 맞는 국내 대표적인 축제대상 시상식이다. 2019년에 열린 전국 2500여개의 지역축제를 대상으로 지역발전 및 경제 활성화에 이바지한 축제와 발전 가능성이 높은 축제 등을 대상으로 시상 대상을 선발한다.

시흥갯골축제. 사진제공=시흥시 시상 축제는 축제콘텐츠 부문(창의, 오락, 교육, 한류 등) 5개, 축제관광 부문(계절별 축제) 5개, 축제경제 부문(특산물, 특산품, 서비스, 마케팅 등) 5개, 축제예술-전통 부문(장르별 문화예술) 5개, 축제글로벌 명품 부문(코리안 마스터피스) 5개, 축제프로그램 연출 우수 부문 5개 등 총 30개 축제다.

시흥갯골축제는 생태환경축제라는 특색 있는 축제 콘텐츠와 발전 가능성으로 축제콘텐츠부문 대상에 선정됐다. 이밖에 주요 선정 축제로는 제주들불축제(축제관광부문), 파주장단콩축제(축제경제부문), 무주반딧불축제(축제글로벌 명품) 등이 있다.
