Parque del Centenario — Attraction in Algeciras

A really peaceful and beautiful park with an amazing view of Gibraltar and the surrounding mountains. It’s a great spot to relax, enjoy nature, and reflect on the deep history of the area, this is where the Arab Muslims first arrived in 711, marking the beginning of Al-Andalus.

However, the walk up to the park can be a bit annoying, there’s unfortunately quite a lot of dog poop on the path, which really takes away from the experience. Also, there’s too much graffiti around, which is sad to see in such a scenic and historic place. Still, once you’re at the top, the view and the quiet make it worth it. Just wish the area was...

An amazing natural park loved by locals and visitors alike. It offers a patch of wilderness in the otherwise industrial Algeciras city. There are historical military structures, paths among grass and flowers wandering in all directions. The coast reveals slate rocks streching into the sea. Great views of the Getares beach, Gibraltar, the Straight of Gibraltar with the usually busy ship traffic, as well as nice views of the Algeciras city. Increíble!! Este fin de semana fui de paseo por el parque del Centenario. De primeras nos encontramos con un deterioro absoluto. Y las puertas cerradas con una cadena y candado. Otra puerta medio descolocada donde se podía acceder. Pero que una persona un poco obesa no podría pasar. Aquella torre mirador que hicieron. Completamente oxidada. Cerrada lógicamente por su estado. Y a pesar. Chavales subiendo. Con escalones rotos. Tener un parque tan bonito y tan dejado en nuestra pobre algeciras. Y digo pobre. Porque nos tenéis a los algecireños bastante abandonados. Tan solo un par de basura en todo el parque. Cierto que el civismo es asombroso, Ya que estaba lleno de caquitas de nuestros adorables animales. Por favor. Hagan uso de sus bolsitas. Que no cuesta tanto. Sino no tengais animales!!! Ojalá que de una vez despertemos los algecireños y hagamos ver que necesitamos una Algeciras más bonita y poder disfrutarla más. Que tenemos a una Algeciras muy pero que muy abandonada. TENEMOS QUE ESPERAR OTROS 100 AÑOS PARA QUE VUELVAN A HACER ALGO POR EL ESTILO??
