A fantastic stop of you’re visiting Zaragoza or other nearby areas. It’s on the edge of a small town (Almonacid), with the appearance of a shop at the outside but a well run working winery on the inside. We did not have a reservation as we made a last minute stop, but happened to be lucky enough to catch Pablo for a tasting and tour. (Probably best to call ahead!) He showed us the fermentation and cellar areas, explaining the process and we then had a tasting of the house wines including white Grenache, red Grenache, vidavillo, and carineña - all had unique tastes and high quality, especially at the reasonable prices (we left with several bottles). After the tasting we also got to go on a little adventure to the old cellars (an interesting bit of history) and a jaunt through the vineyards to see what his family had built. It was a very informative and unique look at local winemaking and really made our trip memorable!

The wine is excellent and the tour was also exceptional. We were very fortunate to meet Mr Pablo and he was available for a tour. He took us on a beautiful tour and showed us the old cellars in the town and their vineyards. There is a large complex network of underground caves (tunnels) built under the town to keep the barrels cool at 15C for storing and aging the wines. Their vineyards are beautiful and located above the town on the beautiful rolling hills. The terrain is very interesting, very rocky and impressive how they are able to extract such great wine. We tried 5 different types of wine but there were about a dozen in total. The tour was very unique and different than most commercialized tours and it was our highlight from the Carinena region. 😃
