On the mountain in front of the biofarm the following lettering was added: "VERDE AURORA BIO FARM"

On the farm you can taste and buy a lot of Aloe Vera products as well as olive oil.

"Located at the heart of the Fuerteventura Biosphere Reserve, the Verdeaurora Estate is a space dedicated to agrotourism where you can enjoy a unique experience on the island.

Approximately 30 hectares dedicated to growing organic aloe vera, olive trees and traditional fruit and vegetables, all certified by CRAE (the Regulatory Board for Organic Agriculture in the Canary Islands), lend shape to a different kind of project on the island that combines organic farming, sustainable rural accommodation and ecotourism activities.

The nature surrounding the little village of Tenicosquey (Antigua) is so rich that it was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2009, and a Starlight Reserve in 2015, due to the quality of its night sky. The estate lies between two Special Protection Areas (SPAs) for the conservation of wild birds: Pozo Negro and Llanos y Cuchilletes de Antigua, designated as such by the European Union. These ecological values were the reason that the area was catalogued as the Protected Landscape of Malpaís Grande and the Natural Monument of Cuchilletes de Vigán by the Canaries Government in 1994.

Our beginnings go back to the mid-20th century, when the current Verdeaurora Estate was mainly dedicated to growing tomatoes, a very important export crop for the economy of Fuerteventura in those days, until it was implanted into other regions in the 1980s and the sector went into downfall on the island. We made use of that recession period to try out new crops suited to the climate of our surroundings, such as aloe vera and olive trees, beginning a new venture committed to sustainable development and agroecology.

Nowadays, Verdeaurora is formed by the third generation of the Mesa family, a team of young people in love with the island of Fuerteventura, who have new, modern and innovative ideas but haven’t forgotten their roots and traditions. It is managed by Luis Mesa, a young architect who is passionate about his land and is committed to the concept of agrotourism and a return to the island’s cultural and...

We booked the tour at Verdeaurora farm through GetYourGuide, and it was an absolutely brilliant experience, far exceeding our expectations! Right from the start, we were greeted by our guide, Winnie, an extraordinarily warm, adorable, and enthusiastic person. It was clear how much she loves what she does, and she shared that passion and energy with us.

Winnie provided us with a lot of interesting information about the farm, the cultivation of aloe vera, olives, a lot of other plants and their products. We learned new things and greatly appreciated the authenticity of the place. One of my favorite moments was interacting with the friendly cats on the farm. 😂♥️

Another highlight of the tour was that we got to create our own aloe lotion. It was a fun and educational experience, and now we also have a personalized souvenir.

I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to everyone visiting Fuerteventura who is looking for an authentic, relaxing, and informative experience. Thank you, Winnie for a...

A very heartwarming place in a peaceful and cozy setting. You can really feel that it’s a family-run business, and everything is done with great care and quality. There’s a comfortable area where you can enjoy a delicious snack made from the farm’s own products, along with a smoothie or a cup of coffee. We also spotted two little goats wandering among the aloe plants. It turned out that these lovely people had rescued them from the mountains. Just another example of the kindness and soul that make this place so special. Of course, we couldn’t leave without picking up some cheese and natural cosmetics <3
