Somewhat a mixed bag at Isla Canela - staff all very accommodating and the rooms were well appointed, but the lack of food within miles of this hotel did make staying here a bit painful. Breakfast was a pretty meagre offering, and unless you didn’t mind not eating lunch, waiting until 7:30 for dinner or forking out for a taxi was your only option.
Golf course was also variable - some holes in great shape, some showing pretty bad bald spots on greens and fairly chunked up tee boxes. Read moreWe played Isla Canela Old Course yesterday - the lady at reception was very personable & helpful, and the course is challenging & scenic but the 4 ball of locals 2 games in front of us were playing a competition and were extreamly slow (unhelpful and a bad reflection on the course), We called the clubhouse to complain & left a message. They were asked twice by the ranger to speed up their game. The ranger came to us the second time & apologised. We only just made it back safely to the 18th before darkness nade it dangerous.
