This church is simply special. It is plain and restrained inside and full of wonderful carvings. It compares so favourably with the excessively ornate and sometimes garish interiors of other later churches we have visited. We were fortunate that the Pastor who looks after the church was opening it to show it to a colleague of his. He was helpful and cared deeply about the building, its history and spiritual nature. It dates from before the 12th century and is in remarkable condition. Some of the carvings look as if they were carved yesterday. Visit it you can. I am sorry but I cannot say how you gain access.
