An honest review as a person and as an engineer. I have to give at least one star but I would happily give no starts.
Background: -I was there the 14th of June 2022. -The park was working at about 20% capacity. -Tickets were cheap, 34.00€ + 5€ Car park.
Note: This was one of the worse experiences I ever had in Spain. Do not judge Spain by what you may experience in this park. Spain is a great country and has a lot of good places. But, this place is definitely not one of them. It is cheap but not worth a day loss.
Experience:
The day was really warm, they had small little showers for refreshing but they are made for kids, not adults. I had a heatstroke after 5 hours in the park and decided to leave.
The park is severely, severely under staffed. I, and many others, were in a queue for about 1.5 hours to go for a ride of about 30 seconds (roller-coaster). For the other attractions the queue was about half an hour. In 5 hours, I only managed to get a ride in 4 different attractions. Everything was very under designed. Some attractions were closed and there's no mention to it on their page.
In the queues, I saw three young girls having a heatstroke in the "queues" and there was no emergency team at the park to help them out. There's no potable water available. There are a few kiosks that sell 500ml bottles for 4.00€, likely the girls had little money to spend inside, her friends had to ask help from people in the queue, also there was no kiosks close to the area where we were. The "queue" was pretty claustrophobic and with no shadows, so they were under unforgiving sun blast radiation for at least an hour before the heatstroke got them good. I hope their parents are made aware of what happened to them. If I alone saw 3, probability predicts that there might have been a lot more.
There's no queueing system due to lack of staff, there's always kids and "monitors" skipping the queue, so there's one of the reasons you will have to wait longer than expected.
There's no respect for Vegetarian/Vegan people. I'm a vegetarian and had I known they sell no vegetarian food, I would have taken my own. Though, my husband consumes meat and ordered a hotdog for 11.95€, they sold him the food and didn't make him aware that they didn't have all the ingredients and sold a half finished hotdog. Didn't even had the consideration to warm up the bread, so the bread and sausage were fridge like cold. I understand the weather was hot but that's not an excuse to sell expensive, cold and half finished hotdog. I was already so upset at this stage and I had not even will to complain about it anymore and let it pass.
The slush puppy were liquid, being sold for 5.40€ and refill for 3.75€ I think. They are really not prepared to deal with their own weather.
This review was made with the park working at about 20% capacity and the list can continue, I don't want to imagine what people might experience when it is working at 100% capacity.
It is really not worth a visit regardless of what time of the year. Though I'm glad I went, because otherwise I would have been thinking about it on the flight back home ( plus you only make a mistake once), but if you're trying to plan a nice holiday and you have few time, take this as an advice and do not lose one of your precious days of holidays in here, it might...

Visited Terra Mitica for the first time since pre-Covid - previously visited once a year or so for the last 20ish years. Had a good time! Still has the potential to be a fantastic experience, but it has definitely lost some of its charm.
Pros: All rides (except Colossus) were open and still great fun. Good variety for different ages. Low to bearable queues Friendly staff, mostly (a couple looked bored to tears) Still love the park's overall theme Clean and tidy, including the bathrooms
Cons: Getting off at the Tram stop called 'Terra Mitica' is misleadingly NOT the way to get to the park. There is no longer any bus to ferry visitors to and from this station. No signage on site or any mention of this on their website. Confusing and dangerous, as this encourages visitors to walk the remaining distance along a road which eventually has no pavement and virtually no shade. Instead, if travelling via public transport make sure to get a bus from Benidorm. Colossus, the huge wooden rollercoaster visible from a distance and a former highlight, has been permanently closed for years (a tragedy). This is not mentioned on their website, and some people may find this disappointing, misleading or devaluing to the park. Limited food options; most of the 'restaurants' serve the same limited menu of pizza, hot dogs, fries etc. Relatively pricey, but wouldn't expect low prices at a theme park going in. Lots of mosquitoes near water attractions once the sun started to set. Don't know if/ how this could be managed though. Didnt appreciate the emcee giving the pool area a club vibe, would prefer to relax, but that's just personal preference. General drop in quality; certain areas need better maintenance, several water fountains in the bathrooms didn't work, the different zones no longer have music/sound effects playing, lots of space with potential going to waste. Minor things that add up.
Haven't visited enough parks to give an opinion on how Terra Mitica's ticket prices compare, but I have no issues with what they charge when visiting once a year. Also didn't try to view any shows, so can't comment.
Overall, still love this park and probably always will, but definitely noticing a few cracks that need patching. Hope it can rise to the challenge. Would still recommend to anyone visiting...
Read moreA Honest Review of Terra Mítica – Still Fun, but in Need of a Refresh
This was my first visit to Terra Mítica in around 15 years, and I brought along two 9-year-olds for the afternoon session, which was a little more budget-friendly.
Let’s start with the positives:
The staff were absolutely brilliant—genuinely friendly, enthusiastic, and clearly cared about what they were doing. We were pleasantly surprised to find zero queues for the rides. While we skipped the bigger attractions due to the kids’ ages, they had a blast on the water rides, the mini rollercoaster, and loved the labyrinth and the 5D cinema. We also caught a couple of the live shows, which added a nice touch to the day. All in all, the girls had a really fun time.
But there are some downsides that need mentioning:
First off, €10 to park? Even the staff member at the gate seemed slightly embarrassed to ask for it. It felt unnecessary, especially considering the lack of crowds.
Some of the rides could really do with a bit of TLC—a fresh coat of paint would go a long way. The boat ride in particular (the one that lifts and spins) looked especially worn down, with more rust than I’d expect from a major attraction.
The biggest shame, though, is that I live just 15 minutes away in Albir and genuinely thought the park had closed. There’s almost no local promotion or buzz about it, which is baffling given its size and potential.
Right now, it feels like the focus is more on squeezing income from extras like overpriced food, drink, and parking, rather than filling the park with visitors. If they shifted that focus towards attracting more guests—especially locals—it could really breathe new life into the place.
Terra Mítica has always struggled to reach the crowds it deserves. It’s a vast park with so much potential, but at the moment it feels a little tired and neglected. It seems like the decisions are being made from a spreadsheet rather than by people who know and love the park. If the passionate, hard-working staff had more of a say, I genuinely believe Terra Mítica could...
