Far del Cap de Creus — Attraction in Cadaqués

The end of the world. Or at least it feels like it. It used to be a hostile place where only the lighthouse man dared to go. Furious winds (Tramuntana) and massive storms shaped the coast and the character of its people. This precisely attracted Hollywood, whose stars came in the sixties and seventies to shoot a few high profile movies (Yul Brynner, Samantha Eggart ‘The light at the end of the world’). As of today, the area of el Far de Cap de Creus has been tamed, the lighthouse itself transformed into a bar and sort of a research center. It is not allowed to drive by your car to the lighthouse. At least what the guy in uniform said. He said that we will get fined if we drive there and we have to park the car in the parking and take the bus. The bus costs 8 euros per person and when you reach the lighthouse you find that there are cars and parking spots. Looks like it is a scam. The organizers of it made everything to get money from visitors by creating such conditions. From parking to the lighthouse cruising two small buses with capacity of ~20 people. Desde final de primavera de 2021 ya no se puede subir al faro en coche. Ahora hay que dejar el coche en un parking cuyo acceso no es sencillo ya que hay que subir un bordillo y bajar por una pista de tierra. Desde allí se coge un autobús lanzadera que cuesta 7 euros por persona. Dentro del parque hay 3 paradas y puedes subir y bajar todas las veces que quieras una vez que has comprado el pase.

Una vez dentro tienes el faro en el que hay dos restaurantes, nosotros hemos desayunando en el restaurante del faro y bueno, estaba muy rico y tenía unas vistas espectaculares pero ha sido bastante caro. Te va a costar un desayuno el doble o más que en cualquier otro sitio, pero es lo esperado.

Tanto en el faro como en el parking hay un punto de información donde te explican las diferentes calas en las que está permitido el baño, como los distintos itinerarios que se pueden seguir para llegar a las distintas calas. Hay algunos caminos que son bastante escarpados y complicados. Si no tienes experiencia en montaña no te aconsejo que lo intentes porque vas a pasar un mal rato.

Las calas en sí mismas no destacan por ser cómodas. Ya que son de piedras y si no llevas escarpines lo vas a pasar mal. Sin embargo lo que merece la pena es el paisaje y hacer snorkel ya que más aguas son muy claras y el fondo marino muy rico de vida.

La carretera de acceso hasta Cadaqués es muy revirada y tiene mucho tráfico sobretodo causado por ciclistas, y personas impacientes e imprudentes que hacen adelantamientos tremendamente peligrosos en curvas ciegas.
