Cala Pregonda, at the north of the island, is one of the most known and appreciated beaches in Menorca, a beach like no other because of its distinguishing features.

Cala Pregonda is beautifully located inside a bay, well protected by two "mini" rocky islands (Illot and Esculls de Pregonda; do you dare climb them?). The sand is red/golden and the water is crystal clear, making this place a real paradise.

A few hundred metres south-east of Cala Pregonda, you will find Cala Pregondó, which is a bit smaller.

There are no facilities at the beaches, not even toilets.

As usual in Menorca, a short walk is required to get to Cala Pregonda. In fact, you can park your car at Binimela beach (there is a restaurant too) and then walk for about 20 minutes through an original landscape.

Must go.

If the info could be useful, we stopped for lunch in the village of Fornells, which has plenty of...

Cala Pregonda is magical; there are only a few houses nearby. There are no services and it is completely isolated. This means that it is one of the most incredible and natural coves on the entire island, scarcely touched by human intervention. All the area is protected and forms part of Minorca’s Natural Areas of Special Interest. It is a very special and very different corner since fewer people go to the coves in the north than to those in the south. One of the main singularities of Cala Pregonda is its geological wealth. The area’s sand has become reddish as a result of the large presence of the pedra vermella (red stone). Between the cliffs, the crystal-clear water contrasts with the...

One of Europe’s most beautiful beaches and little bay.

This place is simply stunning. From the immaculate crystal clear waters, to the yellow, orange sand and the beautiful, almost surreal landscape that surrounds it.

The little islands in the bay protect this beach from swells. The walk here is a beautiful stroll through a stunning landscape filled with lush greens, an swampy nature reserve and at times Mars like rock formations.

Simply beautiful and on a calm day like this, a place to endulge and relax. Far far away from the rush and reality of these pandemic...

Beautiful beach. Not crowded even in August. Hot rocky 40 min walk from parking.
