Itâs about a 30 minute walk down a track, which doesnât sound too bad at first, but in the height of summer, itâs honestly quite rough. Thereâs a steep section where you have to climb down and even get over a wall, which isnât ideal. You will have to come light handed as well, no point taking loads of stuff with you.
When we went, the place was absolutely swarming with wasps. Within 30 seconds of stepping onto the beach, I had already been stung twice. I ended up spending about an hour and a half in the sea just to avoid getting stung again. Every time I tried to come out, I would get stung again, I think I was stung seven or eight times in total, ridiculous.
The beach itself is quite small but itâs sweet enough and the water was nice, no jellyfish around at least. That said, donât be fooled by the heavily edited photos online, the water isnât crystal clear like it might seem.
Parking is also a bit of a nightmare, thereâs only a tiny layby near the road, and it filled up really quickly, even though we got there first thing.
Honestly, I wouldnât recommend it. There are loads of nicer spots that are much easier to get to, donât have swarms of wasps and are more enjoyable. And if youâve got a wasp allergy, definitely stay clear, it could be...
Read moreThis area was once a beautiful and easily accessible spot, but recent changes have made visiting more difficult and far less enjoyable.
Previously, visitors could drive down a dirt track and enjoy a relatively short 10-minute walk to the coast. Now, vehicle access to that road is restricted, with a gate and a person stationed at the entrance. Thereâs no signage explaining the changes, which could leave visitors confused or unpreparedâespecially in hot weather, where the new route can take up to 40 minutes and may pose a risk for some.
About halfway down the original path, a steel gate now blocks access. The only apparent alternative involves detouring via a nearby farm wall with a cut fence, followed by another lengthy walk. This makes the area significantly less accessible.
Overall, while the scenery may still appeal to some, I personally wouldnât recommend this location anymore due to the access issues and lack of clear information. There are many other beautiful and more welcoming places nearby that are easier to...
Read moreLong story short: all the suffering will pay off, but first you must suffer.
Park your car at the place marked on Google maps as the Parking Cala Varques. DO NOT enter the privat road which leads to the beach . Itâs only for people who are living there, so you will not be able to park there.
Once you parked, you will need to take a 40 min walk towards the beach. Yes, itâs long and very hot. Bring a lot of water. The way itself is fine, some obstacles here and there, but nothing unbearable, steep or so. But since it takes 40 min to get there, the hot weather will get under your skin. Itâs a cumulative effect, that brings suffering.
One you on the beach, you can enjoy it all! I was there when the waves were intense and quite high but also highly enjoyable! There is also a small bar on a beach with soft drinks/cocktails and even rentals;) This beach is nudist friendly. Stunning location!
But on the way back (if you leave when the sun is high in the sky) you will suffer again.
Itâs an existential circle of enjoyment...
