It's a nice walk, go early in the morning when it's not too hot because it can get very warm in the summer months. The road is mostly gravel with some larger pebbles so walking is ok but keep focussing on the road ahead. You'll find a bunch of mountain bikers as well who go up and down. Once up there the view is stunning overlooking the La Manga strip on one end and towards Cartagena on the other side. There are 2 ways to get there: one is coming from the parking place in the direction Llano del Beal and the other one starts from Portman. The one from Portman has some very steep climbs so it's not recommended for people that are mot used to hiking...

Note satnav will show a road that takes you right to the site but this isn't a road you can drive up and instead you need to park and walk a good 30/40 minutes up a slight incline, gravel track. Its part of the experience tbh and a lovely walk with some spectacular views on the way. When you get there it's a fantastic ex military installation with two very large guns and a lot of semi ruined buildings you can explore. There aren't any exhibitions or display boards so what you see is what you get and you definitely want to take a bottle of water...
