I found the experience depressing and left the park with a guilty conscience for even visiting it. In general, there were just way too many animals on way too little space. It's not surprising that other reviews mention aggressive behaviour towards the visitors. The birds showed a lot of signs of being completely stressed out, e.g. excessive vocalization (constant screaming), repetitive movement patterns ('swaying') and signs of either self-injury or constant fighting (no feathers left on body/neck). The muntjacs were kept in an area with no space to hide (which they usually like to do), making our visit feel pretty intrusive. In the (tiny) butterfly hatch towards the end, there were very few butterflies left. (Maybe bad timing with respect to the breeding cycle?) But at that point, I already was too depressed to even care, anyways.
Overall, the place did feel like a cash-grab with little regards for...
Read moreIt's a nice place to visit every few years. 3 years ago, there were more animals.
The parrots are tame and dill eat from your hand/sit on your head.
Be sure to take a bottle of cols water I with you. It's like a sauna in there.
I was disappointed with the butterflies this time. I saw between 20 and 30. I've been in others and the air was thick with them. Thousands of them. So, this isn't impressive.
My 9 year old daughter loved it. I loved seeing her excited.
My son walked along looking at his phone. I should have left him outside.
I think that it's worth gojng, once. I think that it's too expensive. €40 for a family of 4
There are some nice picnic tables outside, in the shade. I think that I enjoyed sitting there more than going inside the place.
Go. Enjoy halc an hour or so, but don't expect...
Read moreI really don't understand the good reviews! It's obvious that some animals are really not well! The muntjaks outside have hardly any space to move or hide, but some of them have many injuries from fights. We saw them fight. You too, with a bit of luck irony. Many birds look aparthic and have lost feathers. The butterflies were not in good condition and there were very few for a butterfly park (the focus seems to be on the birds).
Animal parks are always caught between animal welfare, which can lead to the experience becoming boring, and too much spectacle, which in turn affects animal welfare. Unfortunately, neither was the case here.
I felt really bad after the visit and ashamed to have supported such conditions.
Positiv: no waiting time, friendly...
