Here “clockwork toy” birds (aka Sanderlings) ran back and forth from the waves [Sibley/Corey/10000 birds]. Calm and quiet in January. Dog paws imprinted on the sand of this supposedly dog-free beach. Some poops have dried in the soft sand and mixed with litter, rough rocks, sea shells and even a can of Red Bull. It would have been a wonderfully wild beach otherwise.
Suitability (for a family with children): An undeveloped beach which is nice if you want peace. No playground here. Just the little bit of clean patch of rock-free, fine sand and sand dunes. It worked for us, since we were already in the area. There were broken glasses (huge ones) mixed in with the rocks and litter.
Food/cost: n/a
Services/bathroom: none; there is a tiny one at the kiosk-pub (Kiosco Playa Camaron) at the entrance of the beach.
Shade: outdoor.
Foreign-friendliness: n/a
Downside/for Improvement: Would be nice if visitors would respect nature and throw their trash in the available bin; as well dog owners could respect the signs too.
Accessibility: about 33-kilometer drive (35 minutes) from Plaza San Miguel. Bus station is too far away. Side-street parking. There is a wooden walkway for the 50-meter-or-so walk to the beach; accessible by wheelchair and strollers.
Time of visit(s): January.
Note: we (free electrons family) review places from a foreign-family perspective, generally. We have small children and our ability to communicate in the local language...
