Roman Emperor Constans I was assassinated in Elne, France (Helena, Roman Gaul) January of 350ad, his body was retrieved and transferred to a magnificent interim mausoleum in the West, most likely the Centcelles complex near Tarragona, Spain. The transfer out of Elne was accomplished by securing the body and moving it down the coast to Tarraco, which would have offered a more stable location for building a commemorative structure. Centcelles es una antiga vila romana situada al municipi de Contantí, a prop de la que era la gran urbs de Tàrraco, ja que la societat romana era fonamentalment agrícola i rural, i aixó ho podem veure tant a aquesta vila com a les que s’han trobat a aquest territorio, com la dels Munts (Altafulla), o la de La Llosa (Cambrils).
Aquesta vila està gestionada pel Museu Arqueològic Nacional de Tarragona, que no solament s’ocupa de estudiar-la, conservar-la i fer-la visitable, si no que tambè s’ha marcat com objectiu el dinamitzar-la, organitzant activitats, com aquets Concerts d’Estiu, que fan que ens hi acostem,…que es un primer pas, per posteriorment coneixer-la i finalment considerar-la com a nostra.
