Visited today as we were there last March and saw lots of lovely birds then, and enjoyed the walks. Today, after a 60km drive we arrived to be informed the toilets are shut for repairs and there was no wc anywhere within several km!! We set-off along the nearest walk from the visitor centre, over a large lake with wooden walkways over it to discover the ONLY birds on it were lots of coots. At the far side the paths were very muddy but we made our way to the first bird hide where we saw several shelduck. When we left here we soon found all the paths and routes any further into the reserve, inaccessible due to being covered in deep wet slimy mud which soon became totally impassable. We made our way back to our car, muddy, disappointed and bursting for the toilet feeling our 120km round trip was a complete waste of time. We even ate our picnic lunch in the car in the carpark as most of the bench seats were caked in mud where people had tried to clean their boots. Also was annoyed to see at least 10 people walking dogs around the reserve despite clear notices...

The workers are doing a great job. Thank you for preserving this...
Read moreGoogle map said the park closes at 2:00 PM, but it's only the information center that closes at that time. The park is always opened, I was told by a local. There's lots of trails around the park. Lots of birds, ducks and flamingos. You can see them through different observation points around the park. There are picnics tables besides the information center, as well as benches around the center. There are also clean rest rooms. You can ride your bikes on the trails. The place, although there wasn't a lot of people and only about 12 vehicles, was really quiet and safe. Almost all the people visiting were families with children. It was...
