Cueva de Belda — Attraction in Cuevas de San Marcos

Nice, short walk up through the forest and then up the stairs to the cave. The stairs does have signs of damage probably from falling rocks but still feel strong. You have to not to be afraid of heights to walk the stairs as you are exposed to the environment and can see the ground underneath. The cave is quite big - bigger than expected. You would need good lighting to go further in to explore the cave as it gets dark quite quick and mobile light is not...

Very steep walk upto the cave, not for the faint of heart. Bring plenty of water and shoes. It is a very important bat colony. Amazing view and deep cave 😍. Highly recommend this as a short hike. Están muy descuidados los alrededores y senderos de ese monumento natural. Da vergüenza ver el deterioro y la evidente desidia de quienes lo gestionan o custodian, el sistema de señalización es deficiente y está en muy mál estado. Hay que guiarse por medio de aplicaciones que han registrado la ruta, indicaciones que a veces son confusas.

Los puntos de referencia más claros, al subir por el sendero de la izquierda al inicio de la ruta, justo en la bifurcación; son: Vertice geodésico (Un monolito de hormigón indicando la altura). Continuar en línea, casi recta; por la cima de la montaña, por la rocas. Llegar hasta una verja metálica entre rocas, pasarla y seguir por la cima de la montaña casi en línea recta. Llegar hasta las ruinas de la Medina Belda, mirando hacia el pueblo Cuevas de San Marcos. Seguir bajando hasta llegar a unas escaleras metálicas fijadas en el desfiladero de poca altura. El sendero se nota con mayor claridad hasta llegar a la Cueva Nueva Continuando el camino está la Cueva de Belda. Luego de ahí el sendero lleva al punto inicial de la ruta, donde se encuentra la bifurcación inicial. El camino a la izquierda, bajando, conduce al pueblo Cuevas...
