This place is amazing! You should go! I loved every second of my visit, from the surroundings to the activities to the helpful staff. Shout out to Alejandro who helped me lots and gave me pointers. His encouragement and help was brillliant. The other staff and coaches were great too when talking to them, they all offered advice. The lagoon seems to be set in a canyon in the hills, below a reservoir/dam and it is very pretty. The set up is great, with lots of parking, a well priced restaurant/cafe, an inflatable obstacle course, 2 point cable system and the star of the facility, an incredible 5 point anti clockwise cable system (great for goofy riders) and some fantastic park rails and jumps. My kids did the obstacle course and got an hour on it for 11€. I chose the 2 hrs 5 point wakeboarding for 35€. You also have to purchase a band at 5€ which u scan when you start and is reusable every trip. I have never wake boarded before, but have spent my life on a skateboard, can snowboard and ski well, so i was pretty confident balance wouldnt be an issue, but id need to learn the skills for wake boarding. The session includes some basic principles coaching and then if like me a noob, you start on a knee board. I won't lie, I found this very hard and tiring being in the turtle position and holding the rope close to the body. I got off okay and made it around the course until the tight corners and was flung through the air. It didn't hurt landing face first even travelling at 28kph so dont worry. The next goes were better and making adjustments I was able to do it. I then progressed to the wake baord, missing the skis as I knew I had the balance from my other sports. After a little dry land coaching and demonstration from Alejandro I tried a seated start. I failed. Second go I did it and was up and managed to circuit the park on this attempt. If you can skateboard or snowboard, you can wake board. The principles are similar, heel and toe edging in corners. Weight slightly on back leg. The biggest tip is in the tight corners (no 4 espeically) be prepared for the rope to go slack and then absorb the kick and pull of rope with your arms . NEVER PULL THE ROPE. From this point on I was standing start carving and learning and then trying little tricks like an ollie and 180. The next visit I'll be able to rent what they called a pro board which allows you to begin to learn some tricks on the rails and boxes. This is extra€ but the next progression. I believe they do sessions for intros to the park jumps. All in all, this was a fantastic morning but i am dead now! Go early as it gets busy and then u get less goes if you fall. I'll be back on next trip to the...

For those who haven't been.
We took our first trip to Lunar Cable Park just outside Cuevas de Almanzora.
My grandchildren were here and I knew they would love the inflatables on the water (Aqua Glide) Children from 5 years. Ours are 5 and 11. It definitely spans the age groups. It wasn't madly busy and Granny wasn't going to miss out (yes im exhausted now!).
From the car park, you walk along the side of the lake to reception. We booked an hour for 4 persons and it was 10€ p.p. We had such fun, it really was value for money and I'm sure we had more than an hour. It was really hot today but in and on, the water you really didn't notice. My grandson swims like a fish and my 5 year old granddaughter thinks she can swim but this was no issue, because you were all required to wear life jackets and so she bobbed about and loved every minute.
We stopped for lunch at the cafe and they all opted for burgers and chips which were good quality. Granny had a tasty vegetarian bagel and a smoothie. We all had drinks. It came to 41.50. UPDATE The cafe has extended its shaded area. N.B. There is little shade, except on the cafe terrace, so not sure where you would eat a packed lunch. Better to eat there, or locally.
UPDATE - There is a little shade over the picnic tables.
There are no lockers so best to arrive in your cossies.
At reception we were told that its best to lock valuables in our car then leave the keys at reception. Which we did.
Remember to take your flip flops because you are walking around on HOT concrete (you can leave them on the entrance platform at the Aqua Glide), where they dish out the life jackets.
The website isn't great but you can also do kayaking with the young ones and paddle boarding (just behind the inflatables).
The wakeboarding looked awesome! Maybe next time when I'm recovered.......
UPDATE They also doughnut rides. Need to book.
Hope this is helpful to someone.
Read moreFantastic facilities, all the staff are professional and friendly, they’re all multi lingual, prices are reasonable, Aqua Glide is great fun, we went during UK half term and didn’t have to wait, in fact we had it entirely to ourselves. Main attraction was wake boarding, good quality equipment, helpful staff, the professionals training there are very friendly, no big egos! I’d recommend the place 100%, planning to return in August. Finally someone mentioned Aqua Glide was dirty, not true, some areas have “feet marks” in areas where you jump off, as for the mention of sewage, I’d sue if it was my business! The lake is an overflow from the massive dam just behind you!!!!! It supplies the regions drinking water, the equipment is left in water permanently so it’s bound to have some algae on it, I’ve used these in the Uk and you need to book weeks in advance, pay £25 ish and share it with dozens of other people, this was €10 and we had it too ourselves, great day out. Food and drink at the café is okay too. If you are a beginner, contact them about earlier sessions or the end of the day, they will be happy to help. Can’t wait...
