Patones is a small town in central Spain, northeast of Madrid. A path through olive groves leads up to the medieval hillside village of Patones de Arriba, known for its black slate cottages and winding streets. Stone ruins of shepherds' huts dot the trails farther up the peak. Beyond the village are the ruins of Pont贸n de la Oliva dam and the Virgen de la Oliva Hermitage.
