Mirador de Montaña Grande — Attraction in El Rosario

We stopped here, found a short path to a flat rock viewpoint, above the clouds, nobody there. At least for a while; once folks see a car parked, they wonder why and stop. Human nature, we do the same. It's a fabulous place. Plenty of room for all. For a short time.

It's awesome inspiring, breathtaking ... anyone who comes to Tenerife and doesn't visit Mt Teide is missing out !! We've to drive in from the North through the Forest as Mount Teide just appears from nowhere ... you can't see it, turn a corner and there she is ... magnificent!! We were lucky to see her with a dusting of snow which makes it even more magical ... the view point is...

The climb out of Santa Cruz is steep but the road is very good. At the top the conifers were black from fires in 2022 and 2023. This made the view marginally more open. In places new green growth of deciduous species and.smaller plants such as daisies was much in evidence. Fire is an act of nature here. The view down to the coast was good but it depends on clear...
