A very nice beach with a shallow draught. The water is clear and the beach is a deep yellow/orange sand.
The roads here can be quite narrow in places. The car park is free and about 5-10 min walk away from the beach. You access the beach via some wooden stairs. The top of the stairs affords a great view of the bay.
You get a number of boats anchored in the bay which is both a nice sight and a thing of jealousy!
There are some life guards in a old stone building built in to the beach wall. There weren't any other facilities so bring drinks and food if you're spending any time here.
There was the occasional nude but it didn't appear to be either a common thing or outrageous. Just a thing.
A good beach off the normal tourist path. Looked to be quite popular with the locals which means...
Read moreThis beach is OK for couples but I strongly discourage anyone with a young family to go here. Access down to the beach is terrible and if you have a pushchair then forget about it. The beach which has stairs leading down to it has nothing in the way of loungers or umbrellas so unless you're luck enough to get there early then you'll be in the sun all day unless you have your own umbrella. The water is very rough hence the reason it is filled with surfers and it's impossible to swim in with young children. The other beach is slightly better in terms of the water being less rough but there is a real shortage of space and it's a rocky nightmare getting down to it. This was probably the worst beach I have been to on the island and our young family didn't...
Read moreAmazing beach when the wind conditions allow it. Make sure to get there early as it’s (relatively for the island at least) of east access from the parking making it a preferred destination for locals and tourists alike.
There’s a small shack serving only drinks and ice creams at the parking lot. Why they have not evolved into selling food is beyond me but there you go.. bring your lunch if you head there. One main beach and a smaller one to its right. The main one is the nicer one but you might get less agoraphobia on the smaller one..
Again, in July and August I cannot imagine what it must be. On a weekday early September it was quiet...
