Viewpoint Embassament de Cúber — Attraction in Escorca

Whilst it is just a reservoir and not a natural feature it still provides a great habitat for wildlife. It’s great to see as you come over the hill. It was also important to me as it meant that I was getting closer to halfway along the GR221, an important milestone. Embalse artificial de agua,situado en las faldas del PUIG MAJOR( es la montaña más alta de la isla de Mallorca con 1445 metros de altitud,situada en la Sierra de Tramuntana) y del MORRO de CÚBER( 951 metros de altitud), está muy cerca de otro embalse,el GORG BLAU,entre los dos,abastecen de agua la cuidad de Palma y sus alrededores, el agua se distribuye a través del Torrente de Almadrá. El embalse de Cúber una superfície de 59 ha. Y una superficie de cuenca de 7'32km2. Desde aquí hay varias rutas de senderismo,o simplemente una caminata alrededor del embalse,para mantener la vegetación,hay animales sueltos,aunque,es tan grande,que si los ves tienes suerte 🍀,vacas, 🐂,ovejas ,burros. Tiene un pequeño parking 🅿️ gratuito delante de la entrada, hay otro pequeño parking más abajo y otro pequeño parking más arriba, difícil aparcar los fines xe semana y festivos,toda esta zona es rica en rutas de senderismo,preciosas,con diferentes niveles de exigencia. En este embalse hay un refugio,construido por ICONA rn 1978,para cobijo para los pescadores,en los años 90 se reformó como refugio,si lo alquilas, puedes entrar con el coche hasta el mismo refugio,si no, andando,tiene una capacidad de 6 personas,solo tiene una mesa,un banco,un altillo,una estufa de leña,un botiquín,un extintor 🧯 y unas camas con base de madera,la luz proviene de placas solares,no hay enchufes,en el exterior hay una mesa,un fogón,un baño químico y una leñera. I think this was the highlight of the entire vacation. A beautiful little lake, mountains all around, and animals here and there. I constantly felt like climbing mountains and rocks while I was there. In fact, I did climb a few rocks that seemed quite easy. I think this place is definitely worth visiting. I regret that we only spent a few hours there. I believe this location could easily be a full-day program for those who enjoy hiking or climbing...
