Bodega Finca Valpiedra — Attraction in Fuenmayor

We arrived in La Rioja yesterday after a week in San Sebastián and had not really done our due diligence in setting up wine tours ahead of time. Upon finding the tour at Finca Valpiedra, I reached out to Letizia to see if we could possibly join a tour and even more of an ask, have a picnic by the river. She replied immediately that she could make both of these things happen for us. I cannot tell you how grateful we are to her. First, the tour was amazing. We have been on a fair amount of winery tours but we still managed to learn quite a lot from Letizia. It is a fascinating winery with much history and an interesting connection to the river and the stones. The wines are also excellent. Second, the picnic was dreamy and delicious. What a beautiful setting, between the vineyards and the rushing waters of the river. The food was yummy and the weather was perfect. We enjoyed our bottle of wine and our lunch immensely. It was the perfect first day in La Rioja. We highly recommend a visit to this stunning winery. You will learn a lot and your senses...

A little overdue review but wanted to say a huge huge THANK YOU to the amazing Leticia! We went in the region for our 8th Anniversary and we tried to book every bodega possible without any luck - but that’s when Leticia came to the rescue! After submitting an enquiry she reached out and offered to do a tour in English for just me and my partner! Felt like such a private experience as she’s so attending and kind and of course really knowledgeable about wine. The place is absolutely breathtaking and the wine taste is amazing! If you are in the region I would 100% recommend visiting a Bodega and I would proudly say Finca Valpiedra is one of the best...
