A wonderful walk around Jesús del Valle. A beautiful valley between Dehensa del Generalife and Mount Sacromonte 😁💃 Jesús del Valle is a place little known to tourists - after all, who comes on vacation to climb the mountains - thanks to this, the natural environment has been preserved here intact 🌿 At one point along the winding route, we see the Hacienda, which was built by the Jesuits around 1645. There were over 4,100 square meters of buildings and 650 pens and a patio 😔 It was because what you can see from above in the valley is just ruins. However, they are of great historical value - they are one of the best examples of the hacienda-cortijo of that time and the key to the study of agricultural and livestock farms belonging to the Church. The Jesuits took care of the local olive groves 🫒 The return to Granada followed the old path of the Arabs - along the river Darro - who were heading to Gaudix (look for the yellow arrows). We got to Canes de la Vega by bus number 33 and then up the winding road. We recommend this option, although the climb to the top is exhausting. Then you just go down and go to Granada along the river. The route is about 10 km, time 3.5 hours. This route can be followed from Sacromonte to the Hacienda and then climb to the Mirador del Cerro...

An abandoned monastery, if you can manage to find a way in its very cool. BE CAREFUL as floors are not safe and are falling in. There is some really cool art/graffiti inside on the walls. See pics below and like if you find this helpful.

Good destination for an easy walk from Granada - takes you through the forest, alongside the river, and then opens out to the olive groves. Well marked route. Did it solo.
