Mirador de la Magdalena — Attraction in Guadix

During a recent family trip, we decided to visit Mirador de la Magdalena, drawn by the promise of breathtaking views we had seen in countless photos. And indeed, once we reached the top, the panorama did not disappoint — sweeping landscapes unfolded in every direction, offering a perfect moment to pause and take in the beauty of nature.

However, the journey to the viewpoint left much to be desired. As we made our way up, we passed by numerous abandoned buildings, many of which were in disrepair. The sight of these empty structures, some looking dangerously unstable, created an unsettling atmosphere. At times, it even felt unsafe, especially while traveling with children.

While the final view was certainly rewarding, the path leading up to it made the experience less enjoyable than we had hoped. A little more maintenance and safety measures could turn this into a truly outstanding destination. Until then, visitors should approach with a bit of caution — and perhaps adjust their expectations accordingly.

Visitamos el Mirador de la Magdalena en familia, atraídos por las impresionantes fotos del paisaje. La vista desde arriba realmente fue espectacular y valió la pena. Sin embargo, el acceso al mirador fue decepcionante: el camino estaba rodeado de edificios abandonados y en mal estado, lo que generaba una sensación de inseguridad, especialmente viajando con niños. Aunque la vista final es preciosa, sería ideal que se mejorara la ruta para ofrecer una experiencia más segura...

Este mirador está genial para disfrutar de las mejores vistas de Guadix. Está en una zona de casas cuevas, puedes observar las chimeneas que te rodean. Y en el atardecer las luces que bañan la Catedral y la Alcazaba son simplemente espectaculares. A la derecha se pueden ver varios cerros que también contienen casas cuevas. Para llegar al mirador hay que subir alguna cuesta pero es bastante fácil de llegar

This viewpoint is great to enjoy the best views of Guadix. It is in an area of ​​cave houses, you can see the chimneys that surround you. And in the evening the lights that bathe the Cathedral and the Alcazaba are simply spectacular. On the right you can see several hills that also contain cave houses. To get to the viewpoint you have to climb some hill but it is quite easy...

Muy accesible. Se gana un montón de altura sin tener que sufrir por subir, totalmente recomendado. Se ve todo Guadix y las montañas alrededor, a parte de las cuevas, la Alcazaba, la Catedral... Buenísimas vistas y el mirador es muy tranquilo. También parece que sea la azotea de las casas de los alrededores ya que hay chimeneas y todo, la verdad que sorprendente y chulísimo, con unas vistas preciosas....
