What a gem!
We went expecting a small area with a few sculptures on display. What we found was a warm welcome and a large plot with hundreds of mature trees and a good variety of artwork by local artists.
If you enjoy a stroll through a shady garden with little surprises waiting at nearly every turn, this is a great way to pass an hour or so.
Although it's basic, they make an effort to be informative with many of the plants labelled. There's even an audio tour available and a few photos showing how they've progressed.
Run by the Klein-Schreuder foundation with assistance from volunteers, the garden is a rustic and tranquil space that manages to inject an element of quirky fun. At a reasonable price, it's worth a visit.

Read moreWe visited the garden at the weekend and received a very warm welcome from Johannes, who gave us some background on the foundation. The gardens are amazing, very big but well laid-out with a numbered guide to each part. We saw some favourite plants and trees but also some very rare varieties which made the visit even more interesting. The sculptures were also diverse and well placed, and some of them were quite amusing. All in all we spent a wonderful morning and would definitely recommend a visit. Read moreWhat a wonderful experience. We were really well received and got a thorough explanation about the garden, the house and its origin and use. The garden is an incredible experience - and it is a pleasure to see the very exciting sculptures that are nicely fitted into the garden. It's incredibly easy to find your way around - everything is well marked. Finally, we were shown a book with pictures from the time during the construction of the garden and various events that had been along the way. It was a really good and wonderful experience - definitely worth a visit. At least we will be there again. Five...
