Reserva Natural Concertada Dehesa de Abajo — Attraction in La Puebla del Río

We arrived at the park with high expectations. It was early in the morning medio-october. We knew the chances of getting a glimpse of the elusive iberian lynx were very small but atleast expected to see birds thriving in the marshlands close to the doñana. However, we faced a dry savannah without any body of water. All the storck nests were abandoned and filled with crows. Moreover, we did not see any flamingo’s. We only saw one single red-rumped wheatear, a western marsh harrier and lots of crows.

Maybe it was the time of year, but our feeling was this national park really suffers due to the climate change that is going on right now. Such a shame. Hope it will recover...

Nice nature reserve. The drive up to the car park can be a bit bumpy in the car. But in the carpark, you can see all the White Stork nests all around the area. The walk to the 2 hides are very nice and give great views of the lagoon. A lot of birds can be seen from the hides, Greater Flamingos, Glossy Ibis, Marbled Ducks, and Red-knobbed Coot. The visitor center and restaurant are very nice and the staff on hand are very friendly...

Conozco la Dehesa desde hace unos años, antes de que abriesen el restaurante, un lugar mágico como dicen algunos, ideal para pasear, avistar aves y fotografiar que es mi afición y la de mi esposa. Sintiéndolo mucho he de decir que ya no es lo mismo, esta masificado, no alcanzo ha comprender como en un momento en el que se habla tanto de ecologismo y protección medioambiental, se permiten abrir un restaurante no solo para tomar un tentempié, un café o una tapa que me parece lógico, sino que terminen empleando el lugar para hacer celebraciones de bodas, bautizos, comuniones y demás, con despliegue de orquestas e incluso eventos de música en un lugar donde anidan las aves, y justo donde en el centro de visitantes anexo, te encarecen respetar su hábitat y su tranquilidad. Hacia un tiempo que no iba, me habían avisado ya amigos míos que ya no era igual, sobre todo los fines de semana, hoy estuve allí y he decir que en cuanto vi el nuevo área de parking en la entrada con al menos 50 vehículos y me indicaron que no podía dejar mi auto en el parking antiguo de arriba por estar lleno.... otros 70 vehículos al menos, decidí darme la vuelta. Me voy triste, la Dehesa ya no es la que conocí, dudo mucho que un biólogo aprobase lo que se esta haciendo allí, pero claro esta, la pela es la pela, aquí y en...
