What an interesting experience to taste bubbling spring water. Definitely recommend especially if you’re a person who loves hikes moving through towns and areas off the beaten road.
We hiked down from atalbeitar along the medival road which is marked at the travel head and a few other spots. even though we did not know what the trail was we thought it was a good starting point. It lead us through sheep pastures, past mulberry trees and fig trees, through the town below and finally over to La fuente de La gaseosa. If you continue on we later made it to La fábrica del luz which is long abandoned.
We went on the hottest days and took water with us along with snacks, the trees abundance would have been enough snacks but not enough water. We were there just after the yearly festivals the villages had for two weeks so even early in the morning towns people were chilling outside telling stories and animated. What a beautiful place.
