Playa Nueva Umbría — Attraction in Lepe

Beautifully tranquil beach, perfect for tuning out from the real world. Spent 3 hours here, with just sun cream, towel and a bottle of water (oh and mobile phone of course 🙈).

I was all alone on the beach for as far as I could see at 9 A.M.

Shortly after I noticed a dog walker, a motorcyclist and some guys who were driving a Jeep towards the far end. I didn’t know motor vehicles were allowed on the beach??

The Jeep driver managed to get stuck in the sand and I helped push them out and on their way, they were very thankful.

I then witnessed a strange incident at about 10A.M. The beach at this point was still very quiet. An elderly dog walking man, verbally assaulted a female and her large, friendly dog. All because her dog had showed a little interest in his much smaller dog. He decided to use his sandals, to beat the large dog and his female owner 🤷🏽‍♂️! He only stopped when I rushed over! She was okay but visibly shaken and she called the police.

However, I had really enjoyed a great morning and was sorry that I had to leave. Soon be back I thought!!

Was brought back to Earth with a bump tho! Walking back to where I had parked my hire car, which was extremely close to the beach (Google map photo) I noticed somebody had smashed our window!!!! 🤬

Fortunately nothing was taken as there were no valuables in or on show.

However, it will now cost the price of my holiday to get it repaired!!

Playa muy bonita. Antes se podía entrar con el coche hasta cerca de la playa. Yo no la conocía y fui por primera vez por recomendación de unos amigos que sí habían estado antes. La primera sorpresa fue que el camino que llegaba hasta la playa estaba cortado por ser paraje natural, entiendo. Después de andar durante 35 minutos cargado con todo lo necesario para un día de playa en familia, carpa, tabla de paddle surf nevera, sillas y todo lo necesario. Ooohhh sorpresa, cuando llegamos a tierra de playa, leemos un cartel que ponía explícitamente, "PLAYA NUDISTA" Madre mía que hacemos ahora? Nos damos la vuelta después de la paliza? Nos quedamos? Al final nos quedamos y pasamos un día espectacular de playa, nos retiramos de la zona...
