Stopped off en route to Visit the palace of Olite after reading the great reviews about the winery. So glad we did as we met the owners and we were warmly welcomed, despite them being under pressure during their harvesting time. Being from Ireland we were having all the chats with Ivan as he had spent 2 years living in Cork, his English was better than ours and he was full of the craic! Ivan and Raquel thanks so much for giving us your time and local recommendations , that we took on board. We visited the Roman ruins you suggested and were blown away by the excavated site, what a gem of a site to visit. We'd definitely recommend that you stop in for a visit and to buy some tasty tasty wine 👌

We were staying in a rural hotel nearby. The visit to Caudalia was fantastic from the beginning. Ivan took us to around in his car. We stepped on an olive grove that is older than 400years old! After that we could observe pretty old garnatxa vines (~120yo) whose shapes shocked us. Finally the best part, tasting Caudalía wines. Amazing to find that quality hidden in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The best of all was to spend the whole morning with one if the winemakers, Ivan who shared with us so much passion and knowledge. We will be back to enjoy more of Caudalia (hopefully soon). Thanks Ivan and Raquel!!

We reached out to Caudalia just the day before and we feel very lucky that they were able to host us. Ivan (co-owner with his wife Raquel) treated us to a tour, tasting, and chats about life in Spain and abroad. We were the only non-Spanish-speakers but that wasn't a problem for Ivan's very good English. Each of the five wines we tasted were terrific. We were also treated to their olive oil (made onsite) with locally baked bread and chorizo. The town is off the beaten path, quiet but very beautiful. Perfect for someone looking for authenticity and fun!

When it comes to the great wine it is all about the passion and commitment! And that's what we found when visiting Bodegas Caudalia. We do not like so much big wineries so this was the first reason to pay a visit and the second reason - recommendations by those who have been visiting it. This family owned winery is concentrating on quality, not quantity. Racquel is very experienced winemaker and her husband Ivan is taking care of commerce and customer relationship. We were greeted by Ivan as good old friends. He told the story of their winemaking and we tasted extraordinary wines as well as their olive oil. Ivan is fluent in English, so it was a pleasant surprise for us. If you will be in Navarra, we highly recommend to visit...

Iván and Racquel were the sweetest hosts. My fiancée and I were traveling through Spain and were able to accommodate our last minute request to visit the winery and do a tasting with ease.

Once we arrived we were treated like old friends and were soon laughing and talking as if we’d known each other for years.

The wine itself was superb, Racquel did a phenomenal job going into detail about the process, the vineyard, her experience and translating in English.

The oak aged Chardonnay rivals top tier Chablis and the Tempranillo was chewy and rich. We bought the Garnacha rose to take home and it did not disappoint at all.

10/10, would recommend to anyone wanting to get acquainted with Navarra in an...
