Condition of course (west): Poor. Greens ok but everything else is… sub-par. Uneven, bumpy and just bad. It is frankly provocative to charge full greenfee for a course in such poor condition.
First time playing here, done seven other courses on Mallorca. What stands out, above all, in comparison is the unfriendly greeting and general lack of service. Show up in the pro shop to register myself. Not a single informative word. Couldn’t find the driving range (no signs whatsoever to be found) and get told “it’s over there, just follow the path!”. There are many to choose from… Eventually find it. Discover that golf balls can only be bought with one euro coins or a special range card that can only be bought - you guessed it - in the pro shop. Someone still thinks it’s 1994 here, apparently. Stroll back to the pro shop. Buy card for 20 €.
Realize I need to pick up the trolley I reserved. Find the caddy shack. Some dude strolling around the premises. Doesn’t ask me what I want. Doesn’t say hello. Eventually, I just take my trolley and wander off. Stroll back to driving range and arrive 25 minutes after I was here the first time (it’s a bit of a hike). Pro tells me, in most unfriendly manner, to disappear far out to the left if I want to hit from grass rather than the matt. Again, no signs.
Get to first tee. Greeted friendly enough. Play first nine and as said, condition is poor. Find that there is no halfway house after ninth. How can you not even have a patrolling buggy with refreshments?! If not else, you’re missing out on some upselling…But alrighty then, not much to do but play on.
Play last ninth. Slightly better layout and condition. But still poor. Check in to the restaurant since I’m slightly thirsty and a bit hungry. Ok service, food on par with course - poor.
Make sure that you have lots of extra time if you want to play here. But then again - why would...
Read moreI would recomend this place any time, no need to play golf necesarly but if you love high quality services and a litlle touch of the most luxury stay this will be the perfect spot! The villas are mostly the same wherever you will make your pickup but some had added more value defining your own expectations so I will recomend a visit before you maybe wanna book a long stay at this place. The most apreciate it was the professional service we got and also the care for details as maintenance, quality, value for money and ofcourse superclean spaces everywhere. No matter age or which party you are coming with, there are plenty of things to do for everyone, despite the short drive to the beach, this loctation is strategically placed between three most choosen directions: Palma, Costa Romantica or Alcudia, all very accesible by high way in a short drive distance from your room. As for the golf players you will probably not leaving this place, the pool and restaurants have it all, I have seen many happy faces arrund all day long, nobody complained about anything which is a big thing for this segment of customers used to the peak of quality. I would love to come back with my extended family just to offer them a luxury treat as these kind of stays are not very affordable but still not impossible, which is a very areciate thing by many of your fans already, somehow you made it possible for all of us. See you soon Golf Son Antem, and thank you for...
Read moreIt pays to be on the fairway on both the East and West courses! The fairways are pretty good with plenty of grass. Off the fairway on the East course isn't "rough", it is mostly bare earth, but given the prolonged very dry weather, I don't have a problem with that. It reminded me of playing once near Phoenix- if you leave the fairway it's desert. The West course is greener off the fairway, but tighter generally, with more trees and hazards. The East course greens don't look great, but the are fairly receptive, quick and true. West course greens are definitely better but more challenging. Two of us staying in the villas played each course after 3 pm for less than 150 Euros between us per round, including buggy. The rental clubs were great- new TaylorMades. As others mentioned, the practice ground is at the Academy, 5 minutes walk from pro shop and trolley/buggy/club hire, and nearly as far from the first tees for both courses, so allow time for that. And, yes, take 1 Euro coins for range balls (15 per Euro) unless buying a card from the pro shop for hundreds of balls. No halfway house or refreshment cart (while we've been here anyway), but apparently you can book a "picnic" for your round. We're mid-handicappers and enjoyed playing here. Remember to try to stay on the fairways, but then, you do that...
