Riojatrek - Wine tours — Attraction in Logroño

We just had two fantastic days touring the Rioja wine region with Rodrigo from Rioja Trek wine tours. This was planned ahead for about 6 months and I had several email conversations with Rodrigo prior to arriving in Rioja. We stayed in Logrono so that is where Rodrigo picked us up and dropped us off each day. The first day we spent in Rioja Alta. We visited three wineries and had a great pinxos lunch. Day two had a similar set up but it was is Rioja Alavesa north of the Ebro River and in Basque Country. Between the 6 wineries we visited we experienced a wide varieties of style and POV. Rodrigo was very friendly, personal, and knowledgeable about wine. I consider him a friend now. I can’t wait to return to Rioja for some more wine touring with Rodrigo. Rioja wine simply is the best in my opinion (just spent a week in Beaune Burgundy befor this visit to Rioja and it just solidified my prior beliefs and opinions...

We had three exquisite days of wine touring in the Rioja, with our private guide and wine expert Rodrigo Ravera. Absolutely wonderful, we learned some much about the wines of the region. Rodrigo took us to a variety of Bodegas, from family owned to corporate owned. We toured Bodegas that are using the classic method of wine production to as well as bodegas that are using the modern methods. Each bodegas offered tastings. We never felt rushed. Each day Rodrigo took us to a different place for lunch. Lunches were very tasteful. We went to a restaurant in a small village, a small restaurant in a hotel, and the last day tapas hopping with selected wines in Logrono. We plan to return next year, hopefully touring again with Rodrigo, to visit another set of bodegas for three days. This was one of the...

Spent the full day on the wine tour with the amazing Rodrigo, to explore the area, taste some wine, and learn about Rioja. The variety of wineries we visited, from very traditional (like a living museum) to very modern and innovative meant there was always something interesting to see and learn (and taste!).

We would definitely come back and do another tour, and recommend to anyone who wants a different kind of holiday experience (helps if you’re into wine).

But the thing that really made the day was Rodrigo himself - right from the start it was just like meeting with an old friend for a few drinks and a chat.
