Spain golf vacation 3/5. Coming to Costa del Sol to play some good courses. Since we are crazy golfer we had for afternoon booked another course and it was Marbella GCC :D. We tried to move our tee time, but not possible since it was packed. We arrived from Arqueros, had quick lunch and drink, hit the training areas. Checking was OK, what i did not like there in restaurant that there are empty reserved tables for members in shade and free tables for tourists on sun, when we asked if can move there answer was no that we are in Marbella we should be OK with sun. So not very polite if than manager seated group non member is shade. At 3pm we hit the course, and what a nice surprise, very playable course with many interesting and nice shots. Front nine is more hilly back nine is more flat and open. Greens were OK not great but OK as well as fairways, what I see as problem in Costa del Sol is leveling tee boxes they are not in good shape. If I have to choose signature hole I would probably go for few like 2, 7, 9 :D. Anyway interesting course wort of play, price was also good compare to quality, will definitely come again. And yes we were able to finish...
Read moreMy friend and I play this course a couple of times every year and while we love playing here we were recently left disappointed with our experience. We played the course on Tuesday 23rd April and were paired up with two other guys whose company we enjoyed, however on arriving back to the club house we discovered that one of the gentlemen playing with us had been robbed of cash taken from his golfbag whilst out on the course. We subsequently learned that the fourball ahead of us had also been relieved of a rolex watch, a phone as well a substantial amount of cash. I think the most disappointing thing about the day in addition to seeing our playing partners distress at being robbed was that nobody in the clubhouse warned us of these potential problems despite saying that it is a regular occurance to us on reporting the incident.A simple heads up could have prevented this, the lack of which left...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to playing this course and booked it 4 months in advance. We got here to play. Paid full price rented our clubs got on the golf course and realize the greens were punched. Never got a heads up never offered an option. Not only were the greens in terrible shape the fairways are very poorly maintained, weeds everywhere. Hard to find a spot to hit from. At the end of the round, I mentioned at the pro shop how disappointing it had been. Asked why we weren’t notified in time to exercise the option to play or not? The answer was “there is nothing I can do, sorry” The rental equipment was very nice brand new TaylorMade. However most places when you rent clubs, you get a towel, tees, a sleeve of balls a plastic marker…do not expect it at Marbella Golf and Country Club, even getting a pencil was a big deal. No one was rude. Everyone was very nice it just...
