I have played this course many times over the years and always enjoyed it until today. We have played all the local courses during our stay which were a little slow at times, but this one was so slow that we decided to walk off and ask to play it another time which would ease the pace of play for others on the course. I appreciate that golf courses are playing catch up following Covid and the demand for golf in November now that restrictions have gone is high, but they blatantly rammed the course full of golfers which is good for them but not good for golf. My biggest complaint was how I was handled when I asked for a voucher to play another day. We mentioned it to the starter first who was blunt and said the course wasn’t slow, so chose to visit the pro shop and explain to them the lengthy waits on t boxes. She made a phone call and I was told that someone was going to investigate the pace of play on the course. I was promised this would take 5 minutes. Twenty minutes passed so I re-visited the pro shop and she made another call where I got the impression that nobody had investigated the course. She then called for someone from the office to deal with me who basically said the course wasn’t slow and was running on time. Now in my opinion a round of golf should take 4 to 5 hours maximum regardless if you are a two ball who can’t be let through or a four ball but it seems ‘on time’ in Spain and especially this course is 6 to 7 hours especially as it took us 2 hours to play 3 holes! Anyway, they wouldn’t give me a voucher to play another day and the manager from the office was very rude! As I said at the start, the course is lovely as I have played it lots over the years, but I won’t ever go there again and I want to warn others about the experience you will receive if you book a t time there. Perhaps my review may put people off which to be fair will then solve the problem of slow play, but for me it was a lot of money wasted. I told the manager that I would be writing this review and he replied that he would respond with the facts, but those are the facts and this is the first time I’ve ever felt the need to do this! Let’s face it, it cost myself and my friend 230 euros to play so why would be walk off without good reason? Santana golf club, you should be ashamed and this could have all be resolved with a voucher that we probably to play...

Our group consists of 4 club golfers, h’caps ranging 5 through 14 with average UK driving distances of 260 yards. Played it 4.10.2019 and 7.10.2019.

Considering other courses in the area, the bar area is very disappointing. Canopy covered, no views had a market cafe feel to it. We had a pint before and food after each round. Service was quick but every time we wanted to pay, found it difficult to get someone to serve. Also staff ask for tips.

Buggy masters were very well organised and ready for our arrival. There is no driving range but there is a generous putting green, which reflected the speed of the greens.

Course was in excellent condition and had everything to test all abilities. Lots of elevation, features and views. We played the whites, round one they were forward and round two they were well back on different boxes. With the whites at the back, it made some of the holes long for their par, requiring distance and accuracy. Generally It was a good length and open enough to give the driver a big hit. A lot of the greens are significantly raised. If you miss the green, the ball will roll back down the fairway or off the sides into longer grass or bunkers. Most of us will miss greens and a very good short game is required to get the ball up high and stop to save par. Greens were good and set up fairly for the average amateur. They have plenty of undulations and could be very quick around medal events. We all loved this course, it is kept in lovely condition and recommend it to everyone, we will definitely return in the future.

Do not be put off by the off course comments, it will not ruin your day. With some investment and rearranging of the off course facilities, this could be a...

Played last Wednesday in May as a two ball. Normally absolutely love this course but unfortunately greens had been treated and as a consequence were very rough. Would have expected to be told prior so could make an informed choice as to okay or not. Spoke with very friendly lady when we got back in and she said it was posted online but as I booked on the phone would not have seen this. She suggested I write to the manager Salva Jaime which I did do very politely I may add. He told me that basically because his staff were so well trained I would have been informed when I booked as as such didn't want to know. Incredible way to treat someone that had just spent 77 euro plus drinks etc in your business. I communicated with Salva several times where he continued to accuse me of lying and abusing his staff and told me I was only interested in getting free golf. I pointed out to him that there were two of us and as such he did not actually know who he was talking to in terms of speaking to his staff?I also pointed out that i actually had asked for nothing. Very rude indivual clearly with anger issues. Email thread available for anyone that wants to read it because there are several. Plenty other courses on the coast that are happy to have your business so better avoid this one till they...

This review is for my second trip to Spain so called Costa del Golf. Once I said I will never go to Spain again, but. This time I came with smaller group (flight). Our 1st course were Santana. Nice entrance, kind of small course with even smaller clubhouse and parking lot. Very pleasant staff to talk, everyone super friendly. I cannot judge much restaurant since we had just coffee and that was nothing special, this is not Italy, have a wine there. Now to the facilities. My folks were missing driving range which is not available on this course, I do not care but for some people it could be no go. Course is wide open. From design point of, nothing what I would be crazy about, its not long from white tees its about 6.9km. You will not lose a ball unless you are over the fence or in water. Fairways are wide and roughs were still short and no thick. Quality is OK for the money you will pay. I could not say what would be my signature hole, there were not many what would burned forever in my memory, sorry. The best there is the starter, very funny guy, nice to talk. I say its affordable golf to start your vacation. I gave 3 stars just because of missing driving range and not interesting design.

Very early tee off, waiting for the sun to rise. Great course and a fabulous meal after in the restaurant. This place never disappoints. We had to take an early tee off as the courses are so busy, but this worked out great for us as the heavens opened up just after we finished. Thank you to all the staff both for the course and in the restaurant for making this a loverly experience

Fantastico! The golf course is a must on the Costa del Sol! Parkland course with super fast greens and very well maintained grounds. The restaurant is also highly recommended. The staff in the pro shop as well as in the restaurant are very motivated and extremely friendly. We will be back :-)
