Update: more people are robbed, still no action from management!
Last Monday I ran into 2 other members of this golf course. Robbed at the green on the 15th (phone, keys, wallet). Nothing is being done by management. They are notified of this happening for 2 years now but sticking their heads into the sand. With all these occurrences they should be held accountable for this.
For now: avoid this place and go to courses where they take care about their visitors.
Update: No action from management on robbing on golfcourse
For over a year now people have been robbed on the golfcourse (me included). Money, hand bags, golf bags, telephones and so on. Font has introduced golf carts that push you of the course by gps, and that is exactly where the robbers strike. Green hole 7, green hole 15, green hole 16 and 17. As soon as you park your buggy there chances are high you will be robbed. Solution is simple. Shut gps on the golf carts (buggies) and let them park where their buggy is visual and within reach. Another, simple thing, is tell the players (green fee players) that this is going on, and they have to be alert. Print a A4 sheet that gives them a position to park their buggies on the fairway so nobody could come close. Nothing of this has happened so far. Management is silent and looking the other way. For me it's beyond imagination, sticking their heads in the sand and not taking good care of their guests.
So my advice to future greenfee players is get your buggies or golf bags in view at all times. Leave all your belongings in the car at the parking (there is video surveillance).
(I am writing, as a member of this course, the frustrations of my friend). A friend of mine visits this golf course for 5 years now. Normally he pays 45 EUR for a round of golf but this time he had to pay 65 EUR. Why? Tee boxes, fairways and greens are getting worse every year. Prices should go down, in stead of up, with this quality. One positive note on all of this is that the girls at the reception are the best, They are not responsible of the state of the course, the director and shareholders are. The conclusion is that this course isn't worth 65 EUR a round, more like 30 - 35 EUR maximum. There are much better courses to play in the area...
Read moreI will have to start with the views which are breath taking and sitting outside on the terrace is a lovely way to end the day. The course has a very tricky lay-out and is one of those that needs to be played more than once to know where and where not to put your tee shot ( taking into consideration that you may not know where the ball is going to go once it leaves the club). The greens were surprisingly slow for a Spanish course but you could easily stop a ball on them and maybe this is to help out the higher handicappers who dont want to three or four putt on tour pace greens. My only moan is about the bunkers, the sand ( if thats what you call it ) was so compact that any proper bunker shot cannot be made as the club just bounces off it and you end up thinning the ball. We had to play them like a chip shot, back foot and ball first. In my opinion this needs to be looked at, especially around the greens. However, we played Alenda earlier in the week and they were exactly the same. All and all a very nice course, with friendly staff and a...
Read moreWonderful course, just 30 minutes from Alicante. Greens were pristine, fairways were beautiful. Got convinced to play from the tips (which was a mistake for my scorecard) which allowed for some stunning tee shots. However, I will not play from that far back next time. Really difficult front 9 in the mountains. Greens are fairly difficult to hold, some sloping front to back. Putts were tough to read all day, perhaps due to the valley affect. Back 9 is easier but still, not a flat lie all day, and bunkers protecting almost every green and a majority of the fairways. Price was unbelievably reasonable for the quality of the course (60 EUR for 18 on a Friday, late morning, not including cart). We used a cart as the elevation changes seemed like a nightmare for walking. Would play 100 times again and again. A fun and interesting course that requires some impressive shots to shoot low. Solid practice areas and great restaurant/bar for after. Guys in the pro shop were friendly and helpful. 5 stars, we...
