Prat de Cadí — Attraction in Montellà i Martinet

It’s quite a challenging walk, but so rewarding when you finally reach the mountains at Prat de Cadi 🤩⛰ There’s also a lot to see and explore along the way, I lost my counting of how many mushrooms I saw. It’s also stunning viewing points along the way, where you can catch your breath from time to time 😮‍💨😉

Actually I tried two different paths. The most popular has quite an equal inclination, while the other one is more flat at the first part, but the second part - when you get closer to the mountains is really steep an slippery, cause the gravels is rolling under your paws/feet. So please be careful! Another thing I noticed, even if it’s warm when you start the hike, it was freezing cold at the top. Next time I will definitely bring some warmer clothes… almost became a blue teddy 🥶🥴

P.S. for the best photo opportunities, visit early in the day if it’s a sunny day… otherwise you may end up with strong shadows...

Amazing views and highly recommended. The excursion starts from Estana. There is a small parking after the town but it was full the day I was there. The path is nice and can be done also by people with little experience. It lasts 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours to go to the top. Una excursió molt recomanable, però si aneu amb canalla petita que no estigui acostumada a caminar heu d'anar amb calma i amb aigua i alguna provisió. És millor fer la ruta circular i no tornar per l'altra pista que no és GR, que tot i que es bastant gran i fàcil de seguir és bastant mes llarg i hi ha trams amb força pendent i pedra i si no estas una mica abessat pot arribar a ser complicat. També hi ha algun tram d'aquesta ruta de tornada alternativa que no està massa ben indicat, així que no és massa recomendable si vas amb canalla o no estas acostumat a caminar per muntanya. Molt millor tornar per on es puja. Hi ha un parking al mateix inici de la ruta, però per accedir has de pujar d'hora perquè a partir de les 9h està prohibit circular en cotxe pel poble, al menys a l'estiu, però hi ha un altre parking a l'entrada del poble d'Estana, que està a uns 1,5- 2km de l'inici de la ruta.
