A great visit to this rum distillery on the road out of Motril beaches. About a 25 minute walk. We booked the English tour (daily at1pm) Spanish speaking tour at 12pm. We booked but apparently this isn’t necessary. The tour is really informative and built well on the knowledge we had gained from visiting the sugar processing museum in Motril. Theresa was an excellent, knowledgeable and informative guide. The tour lasts about 1 hour and concluded with a tasting of 3 rums produced which were lovely! Opportunities to purchase are offered but are in no way pushed or expected. I really enjoyed the feeling of independence and community that the distillery presented and will always look out for this brand on future visits to Andalucía. Thank you.

A small but formidable family run distillery. I was privileged to attend a privately hosted party here where we were given an enhanced tour of the facility and were plied with unlimited drinks and Iberian ham. Their light and dark rums offer quite different, but equally palatable, tasting notes and are particularly suited to cocktails and as a mixer drink. The Montero family are lovely and vibrant. Understandably, they are deeply passionate and proud of their heritage. The distillery is a fascinating place and is well worth the visit to see how rum on a smaller scale is produced.

This is an interesting and informative tour, easily accessible, tastefully and professionally done! The guide, Teresa, is outstanding! We had German, Swedish, and American guests in the crowd, and she was fluent and understandable in English, but was able to personalize the tour for everyone by speaking a little in both German and Swedish, as well! Well done!! It is a tour well worth taking. The tour is free (Spanish language at 1200h, English language at 1300h-don't be late), and be sure to bring some money to purchase at least one type of the rum!
