We played the challenging and picturesque golf course a year ago and had fond memories of the round. This year, however, the condition of the course was miserable - with the exception of the greens. The course obviously lacks water. The fairways were completely dry. Another disappointment was the management: due to illness, two colleagues were unable to play, which we wanted to inform the management of promptly by telephone (5 hours after the start of the free 3-day cancellation period). the management cannot be reached by phone at all. the email on the evening before the day of the game was finally answered - but negatively. On site, we once again pointed out the quick cancellation. However, there was zero accommodation. Even more: the push trolleys were fully charged at 10 euros!!! per person - not even a sign of goodwill here. Even in the restaurant in the morning you are neither greeted nor noticed. Friendliness and the idea of service is non-existent in this place. We will gladly spend our 500 euros next year at another place. The "La Manga" golf course shows that it can also be customer-friendly - despite online booking and cancellation conditions. The following day we were offered a trolley and a cart instead of the green fee for the...
Read moreThe development is very well kept an this is a plus point, the villas look appealing and in a traditional spanish style, the one we rented was very tired and dated on the inside however. We did not see any golfers on the course during the week we stayed, maybe the course was closed for repair. The clubhouse looked nice and the food offerings were OK but some of the staff (not all) didn't seem to like their job and we felt like we were a bit of an inconvenience to them.
There is a very good spar supermarket on site which has everything that you need. You will certainly need to use this shop as there is nothing outside of the complex for miles. A car is definitely needed if you wish to travel and see the area. We found that we were travelling towards the costa blanca area mostly as there were more things to do, we have a 9 year old boy. Whilst we were there we went to Murcia Fc to see a football match on a Saturday evening, well worth a visit and not expensive. Easy to park near the stadium, I don't mind driving abroad in built up city's but if you are not keen then avoid, the roads...
Read morewe've had 3 very nice relaxing holidays at El Valle so far, but it has to be said that the service at the bar/restaraunt is consistently bad. You walk in and sit down expecting to be served but no, after a while you give up and go to the bar and your then ignored for the rest of your visit whilst watching others who are clearly known to the bar staff get bowls of free food and free shots, wheres the consistency in customer service? I've encountered this numerous times but tonight was the worst. Went for dinner, at table 25 mins, waving for service and ignored so fetched own menus, then 15 mins later had to shout someone over to order drinks and food, waited 45 mins for food, anywhere else would've had dessert and more to drink but dont have that much time to spare. Asked for bill but never came, so went to till to pay, had the honesty to pay €45 but couldve walked out, after such an awful experience who would blame us, shocking service. So is it table service or not, someone should let the staff know....
