Fantastic beach! There's no sand but very very fine pebbles from every colors which aren't painful under the feet (so no keed for shoes on the beach!). The parking place is pretty big, we've never had problems finding a spot during the week (we always arrived around 16-17). The water is pristine and there's a huge amount of fish near the coast! We counted at least 20 different species which can be see simply by snorkeling. We swam only a couple of cm away from the fish (some of them getting up to 30cm long!). We loved this place!

Carla del Corralete, situated in a wide bay, not far from Almeria city, is easily accessible by car, but relatively remote and unspoilt.

The coast road runs close to the long beach in places and it is possible to stop on the verge. The road leads only to a couple of small villages and Cabo de Gata lighthouse, so is not too busy.

The beach is long and consists of coarse sand and fine shingle, which slopes gently down to the sea. It is quiet and attracts some naturists. Swimsuits appeared to be optional.

Outside the villages, there are no facilities or natural shade at the beach. Because of the open location, a strong sea breeze is a...

This is the most beautiful beach I've been in Europe, although small, but the sea is full of life! We saw at least 30 different species of fish, sea urchins, shells etc. You can swim around a large rock and find little caves. The trip is around 40 mins from Almeria, but it worth it! Don't stop on the boring flat beach where everyone goes, go further until the end of the road and you will find this little gem! But be careful, the sea urchins are pretty dangerous and they are everywhere around from 5 meters from the coast, better swim than step! Diving masks...

its very nice area for almost all activities ( swimming, snorkeling, kayaking....etc)

Attention: its very important to have feet protection ( plastic shoes special for sea) . its not a sandy sea, it contain a lots of rocks, sea urchin, algae..... etc) protection is very important.

parking: its a free parking, but to find a place, it is a little difficult in high season ( depending on the arrival time too).

take a look on the wind direction ( Meteo) before you go. if its SW, there will be a Sea waves (vagues).

at the night, some...
