Bodegas Beronia — Attraction in Ollauri

Working with the representative, Leticia Herrera, to make arrangements for a tasting was the right approach. We enjoyed her company as much as we enjoyed the wines

We sampled Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva and were very impressed by the quality of the wines and the value (price). We are so jealous of the residents of Spain who can get these fine wines between $8-11 equivalent USD. Again, the pours were much larger than we experience in tastings in CA.

It is not surprising that Bodegas Beronia has been recognized over the years as the best value producer of La Rioja Alta wine. Their Crianza is in virtually every pintxo bar we went to and that means more than 30 places in five major cities in the Basque Territories. Yes, we were very busy eating and drinking for 3 weeks.

We purchased some bottles, large and small of the Crianza and had it in our hotel rooms throughout the trip. We ordered it at restaurants. It was our favorite red wine with meals.

The views are spectacular. But the wine isn’t anything good. And to listen to the 2 hour tour with not great wine is a waste of time and money. You would be better served going to wineries without tours and with wine tasting. You can’t have a wine tasting here...

Hemos visitado 5 bodegas de la zona y sin duda Bodegas Beronia es la que más nos ha gustado. El sitio es espectacular, la bodega es preciosa, entras por el viñedo y todo está mimetizado con el paisaje. Es una bodega 100% sostenible y la explicación de Natacha es la que más nos ha gustado de todas las que hemos ido. Explicando todo con pasión y amor por el vino y la degustación ha sido también estupenda. Con la visita tienes un 15% de dto en la tienda incluso comprando vinos gran reserva.
