One of the most magnificent caves in the Itxina Massive. It can be a real challenge to find it after departing from Ojo de Atxular. The trail to the cave quickly becomes difficult to navigate. It is easy to get lost and that’s something you don’t want to happen. Make sure to bring your gps device (could also be your cell phone) and headlights and/or flashlights. Keep an eye on the stone markers that previous hikers set up to help navigate.
Stay near the entrance if you don’t have a proper light with you. There are many small rocks and pebbles on the floor which could cause you to stumble and fall.
The cave itself is large, wide and has a high ceiling. It makes a few turns and here and there some natural light provide a beautiful scene for some amazing photos.
Entering and exploring the cave is safe as long as you have good flashlights with you. There is e.g. a deep sinkhole towards the rear of the cave, as well as branches leading away from the main cave. Apparently you can get lost if you wonder off away from the main chambers, so stay safe.
