We stayed here for the weekend to celebrate the marriage of my nephew and his beautiful bride. What a magnificent setting for such a romantic occasion. The Palacete is in the most stunning setting and the gardens are full of fruit trees. The place is lovely and ideal for a family celebration. The rooms are quite dated and communal areas are like a museum but believe me when I say it adds to the charm of the place. There is so much to explore and the view from the top of the bell tower is fabulous. The accommodation was clean and there was an abundance of towels provided for use at the pool. The place is self catering and the kitchen is well equipped. Getting to the palacete is interesting as the roads are steep, narrow in places and quite windy. I am not a fan of mountain roads but coped ok with the journey. Don't expect 5* luxury but love it for what it is.

I had probably my best holiday ever here and I can't wait to go back. The scenery is amazing, I was out for a run every morning and straight in the pool afterwards. The villa itself is fantastic, I was delighted to find a pool table. Add to that the tennis court and amazing gardens and this made a dream holiday. I'd highly recommend this for a small wedding or extended family.

As a full time local wedding celebrant this venue is unique... not only does Palacete de Cazulas have one of the most spectacular Spanish countryside settings it also boasts its own private chapel. Top tip, to book the whole venue to host pre-wedding/ceremony day/post-wedding parties too, book through wedding planner Alboran Events

A group of 23 of us went to the Palacete for a friend's 50th birthday party weekend and it proved to be a dream venue. It enjoys a commanding location on a hillside opposite the village of Otivar, in the mountains above Almunicar. The bedrooms were very adequate and the cooking superb: the huge paella that they prepared for us for lunch on Sunday was fantastic! The staff were always cheerful and prepared to go the extra mile for us: I can't praise them enough. The house is surrounded by terraces where you can enjoy the views and some privacy: a magnificent shaded garden at the front of the house is a perfect retreat. We had the main party on the barbecue terrace overlooking the (concrete) tennis court and Otivar and couldn't have wished for a more perfect setting. There is a small, well-maintained private (Catholic) chapel which probably seats 30 - I didn't count the seats - adjacent to the house and an old event hall next door to it.. The walks in the nearby mountains were beautiful: at this time of year the wild flowers are spectacular. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more: full marks to everyone who made our...

We visited Cazulas to view as a potential wedding venue and it seemed lovely. The condition of us being able to provisionally book the venue was for us to send flight confirmation across for our intial viewing. This was confirmed and we were requested to ensure that if there were any delays that we informed the owner as she had to travel up from the coast (even though we were travelling from the U.K!). Having arrived early with our young son on the date and time scheduled, we were left waiting. After 30 minutes we rang the owner to find that she had completely forgotten our appointment and would not be able to meet with us whilst we were there. We were left extremely upset and dishearted having travelled all that way. We gave her the benefit of doubt thinking that there would be an apology of some sort to follow....but absolutely nothing. Please be warned about the terrible communication and lack of customer service if you are thinking of booking this venue as we would hate for it to happen to...
